After I drive my Dodge 3/4 ton cummins 24 vlave turbo diesel for a few miles and then stop and put it in park, it wants to die when putting it back in drive. The lift pump has been replaced. What could be causing this problem?

If the pump is okay then it has to be the tank pickup pipe filter or the main filter chocked

do not use it!!! you will do more damage..
firstly, is the engine management light on?
if so you can try getting a diagnostics kit plugged into it. this will read all fault codes through the ecu.
if not you have a few things you need to check.
let me know

2005 dodge 3500 5.9 cummins,it died driving down the road.will not start blows white smoke trying to start.oil leaking at back of turbo,checked turbo bearing seem fine.

You have a blown turbo.You have to replace the turbo the oil is going into the turbo and being recycled into the engine and being put into the cylinders if you keep driving it the way it is you will eventually blow the engine. It will high RPM and be running on oil it is called a runaway turbo. It will burn every ounce of oil in your engine in a matter of min utes and your engine will seize up before you know it.It is an exspensive part to replace but it is a very easy thing to change even for the most un mechanical person.Make sure you change your oil & filter at the same time because you will probably have diesel fuel in your oil as well.The bearing does not have to be bad in order for the turbo to be bad.

Truck won't move

Unfortunately, it sounds pretty bad, good job listing the symptoms though, appreciate it. Now what I would do next is replace the oil completely (and filter if there is one). Its your last hope of saving the trans, plus you can get some valuable clues. When you drain the oil inspect it closely for metal filings/fragments, and take note of the smell too. Does it smell burnt? Is the oil discolored? Also pay attention for leaks, trans oil level doesn't usually go down unless theres a leak. It doesn't hurt to save a sample of the oil or fragments for an expert to inspect. Unfortunately, if new oil doesnt change anything, then overhaul is iminent. Hope this helps.
