Yes, unless engine under a load, then fuel pressure regulator will close, and no more fuel will return to fuel tank.

I need a diagram to show me the routing of the petrol pipes on a citroen c3 from the petrol tank to the engine and back to the petrol tank please?

the fuel is constantly rotating round the fuel lines, the fuel is pressurized, so any fuel that is not used by the injectors is sent back to the tank.. this give a constant flow and pressure to the tank. the pressure in the tank is regulated by the pressure relay that lets air into the tank to lower the pressure. this is regulated by the ecu and your speed. if the pressure drops or is to high in the tank the engine can cut out on the fuel rail there is a fuel pressure regulator this keeps pressure on the fuel line coming into the injection system. some systems have duel line feeds from the tank for 2 rail systems, this system was not reliable due to the amount of feed pressure needed to fuel 2 lines. and can cause pressure leaks. some systems have a pressure regulator controlled by the ecu on the return line, this is more fuel efficient as it keeps the fuel at a steadier flow back to the tank and give a better fuel spray into the engine. hope this help you.

When i use the front fuel tank the rear tank over flows after a short time.

You did not post what vehicle this is on, if this engine is fuel injected, the un-used fuel is returned to the tank from the fuel rail. Since the return line goes to only one tank, it is overfilling that tank, if the fuel control was modified to accept another tank then the valves have to be changed to accommodate dual flow to the active tank.

How do you remove the clips of the gas tank on the 1990 XJ6 SOVERIGN

the tank is held in with straps within the boot behind the rear seat back.but the hard bit is removing the pipework. the filler hose and breather is easy.inside boot.but the flow and return pipes you may need quick release pipe tools, the flow/return pipes are underneath above the diff.not easy to get to. but are self sealing so when they are released no fuel should escape

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me where the fuel filter on a 1990 cadillac sedan deville is. The car has a 4.5L pf1 v8, and i have heard that the fuel filter is somewhere

On the frame directly below the rear passenger door drivers side, above the E-brake cable and fuel return line. Be sure to loosen the fuel cap before loosening the outlet/inlet lines to the filter or fuel will continue to flow due to pressure in the tank also have a container to catch what fuel is in the filter/line. A 5/8 and 13/16 wrench should be the tools to use.

I just filled my tank on a 1990 grand voyager and my fuel pump went. How do I drain the tank to drop it?

I think on the rear of the tank there is a line coming down with a rubber cap on it. You can drain it though this line. Take off the cap and hook up a hose to it. Then take a air blow nozzle and blow next to the hose so the air rushing by the end of the hose will **** the gas from the hose. When it starts flowing, drain it into gascans or buckets. If you can't find the line, you should be able to do the same thing on the return line to the engine.

Fuel lines

You have the lines crossed. One is pressure from the tank, and the other is the return for the unused fuel to return to the tank. Newer models do not have this, but yours does.
Switch the lines.
