Question about Dodge Dakota

2 Answers

2002 dakota, i had the whole dash out to fix the condensate line. Now i have a "no bus" signal on the odometer and only the oil pressure gauge registers slightly. I have a hard time believing i missed a connection. All the pins on the gauge cluster are good and all gauges will zero themselves when u plug them in. Also a code scanner will read all parameters and i have a 5v reference at the tps. Hope you can help

Sounds like you either missed a reconnection on a plug or a plug didn't get seated. Or one may have come loosed while moving the dash around. I suggest pulling the dash panel loose enough to recheck all the connections. Also you may have simply blown a fuse. check your owner's manual and it'll tell you which is the fuse for the instrument cluster. pull the fuse to inspect, replace as needed.

i have check all connections and the pins inside, checked all fuses, the grounds i found had a max voltage drop of .002v with a load, i pulled the actual dash connectors off their mounts and plugged them in and have jiggled the whole harness with some serious enthusiasm haha

All gauges are bouncing all over when key is on or driving. odometer and trip meter blink also.the weird thing is when i click the overdrive button off all gauges drop to bottom no bounce

run the fault codes and check for a problem vehicle speed sensor
(VSS)
it drives the speedo and odometer and is affected by the OD change

Is there a oil safety switch on 2002 Chevy s10 zr2

You have a oil pressure switch which is located by the oil filter,it is screwed into block, just removed electrical connector, get wrench and remove.
  • When the oil pressure is either high or low it will either turn the oil light "on" in the dash or move the gauge to the extremes
  • Undetected high or low oil pressure can result in internal engine damage and/or gasket leakage. Here's a picture of what it look's like.

Dakota - 2001, started, died and won't start. all dash indicators light as normal except odometer says "No Bus."

Hi, if odometer say no bus you are loosing your bus signal some were ,with out a bus signal the car not going to run the bus signal runs to every module on your truck. This could be as easy as a blow en fuse to a wire shorted out or a bad module . Depends on your know how around cars . If your not sure you should take to local shop or dealer. If i can help you further just re post.
Thanks dodge tec

Fuses

Yes there are more fuses. Drivers side underneath the dash or at your feet, look up to the wall and you'll see mostly blue fuses for turn signals fog lights and stuff like that.
