With a small flat head screw drive. pull the glove box latch and there will be a goldish small piece of metal behind glove box latch. remove the small gold metal piece ( you will have to break it out) and your glove box will open. the new latch will cost about 25-35 dollars. <!-- from fixya rte -->

Lower glove box latch 2006 prius popped What do I do to reconnect button?

I just had a similar problem this past weekend. I gently pushed the latch with a small screwdriver until it closed. Then I pushed the release button to re-open the latch. After that it hooked the glove box just fine. I've open/closed the glove box at least a dozen times since then and the problem hasn't reoccurred yet.

Toyota corolla drivers door won't close. how do i fix?

open the door and look at the latch that is across the opening . Get a round screw driver and pull the latch out at the same time as opening the door handle.. The door lock is in the first close position and will not move further to fully lock the door.

Open glove box this morning and it will not close. I do not want to break it by forcing it.

i dont have a picture of this but the latch may be stuck in the closed position. using a small screw driver open the glove box and lift the latch that opens it while still pulling out on the handle take your screw driver and pop open the latch from the inside of the door this should free it up and allow you to close it again. hope this helps

Can't get the hood to latch when closed on a 1995 Toyota

The latch may be closed already. Have someone pull the cable inside and move the latch by hand to the open position again.

Lower Glove Box Won't Close

I fixed this in a 2010 Rav4 by lowering the glovebox all the way and finding that the cover to the cabin air filter had fallen off and was jamming the hinge of the glove box. To lower the glove box, pull the glove box side walls inward until the lock tabs clear the sides of the opening and you can rotate it all the way down. Clear whatever is jamming the hinge and rotate the glove box back into position. Be sure the hinge is pushed all the way forward onto the corresponding pin before closing the glove box, otherwise there will be misalignment. There is also a plastic air piston on the right side of the glove box assembly that damps the movement of the glove box. Be sure the piston assembly is secured into the two corresponding locking pins (one on the glove box, the other on the glove box opening) before closing the glove box.

2000 Toyota Corolla VE -- Glove Box Stuck

The most common cause is something inside the glove box jammed in the latch. Push glove box door release , and GENTLY insert a flat putty knife, plastic knife, or similar type tool in the groove of door, GENTLY try to pry open the door. U will probably (hopefully) find a napkin, map, or glove (does anybody actually put gloves in the glove box?) jammed in the inside latch. Let me know how u make out.

hello first thing to check is were the box mounts at the bottom of the door hinge assembly undo the screws you should be able to lift the door enough to release the lock inside goodluck
