The battery is bad. Have it checked for free at your local auto part store.

After driving my car whaen i tyurn it off it wont start again without a jump but the battery is still good .but then after it has cooled off it will some times start agasin

Sounds like the starter motor, what can happen is when the engine is cold the battery fills like there's not enough power to start it and when you jump it it will go after a while and when the engine is warm it's OK to start still , starter motor good luck colin

The battery and alternator is good i have to get it jump off will not start what else can i check could it be my coil packs

Does the engine spin if you do not jump it? If this is the case it sounds as if you may have a bad starter and the extra power from the other battery helps it start. If it were a coild pack, the engine would spin but you would have no or little spark to the park plugs and a jump start would make no difference and besides if the coil pack was bad the car would either run very poorly or not even start at all. Not quite sure as to your problem by the way you worded it so am trying to do my best to help. If the engine is turning over without a jump but not starting you first want to check to make sure you are or are not getting fuel and/or spark to the spark plugs & then narrow it down from there. One other thing, if it will not spin without a jump then try before you connect the jumper cables to your vehicle to have somebody turn the key to try and start the car while you or somebody taps on the starter. If it starts then it looks like you may have a bad starter. I hope this helps and good luck.

Car just clicks when tryingto start battery is good. Will not jump with another car

YOU HAVE A PROBLEM LIKE A LOT OF OTHERS BUT ITS EITHER,
the battery term on the = or+ on battery lead OR where the Earth lead on battery is fitted ORthe feed (+)on starter motor connection or the solinoid on starter,or starter jamed or engine siezed.
SO first jump start as +on battery on both cars and them (black lead)to a good earth on engine not on to battery on your engine, try to start if not fot red lead to starter motor feed and it should spin if not then replace the starter but first just turn engine over slightly by bottom pully,if it dosent turn then engine is no good.

Have a1997 jeep wrangler that wont start changed ignition could it be my starter

Yes it could be the starter, it could be the battery if the engine doesn't turn over, it could be a grounded power line to the starter. Even if the battery is showing proper volts it may not have the amperage to turn the motor over, it could be the solenoid itself. I recommend you 1. try jumping the vehicle. If the engine cranks when jumped but not without a jump then replace your battery. If not I recommend you get the Haynes repair manual on your vehicle for all of the troubleshooting and isolating steps.

Pontiac Sunfire 1997. Won't start.

When jumped off ,if it drags to start, have the starter checked, and if when jumping the car off,the starter turns the engine over real good, then the cables are most likely the problem, replace them.

The acr would not start. Battery works. I banged

If you banged on the starter motor and it started then you have a stickie bendix drive and solinoid sticking
But if you have to also jump start it as well then do this.....When it wont start before doing anything else turn on the lights and hit the starter and if the lights go dim or go out the battery is no good or you have a short in the eletc ...so take battery lead off for 2 days and if starts you have a SHORTin the eletrics

My 1988 4x4 3/4 ton chevy long box with a 350 engine wont start i have power to the dash but the starter wont click or turn over but when i put a screwdriver across the starter it spins but wont kick in to...

If when you jump the starter with a screwdriver & it spins without engaging the flywheel - I would say with reasonable confidence that the starter is bad..

Hope this helps !!
Please rate me good ;o)

Won't stert without a PUSH START

check there is voltage going to the starter motor solidnoid from the ignition swithch when the key is turned.also check continuity from earth from battery to engine. If all fails try getting jumps leads and put one from battery neg to to engine and the other from battery pos to pos connection of starter motor. that should turn engine over. This should help you figer out whats going on. but be carefull.

Engine won.t turn

hi can you turn engine over by hand [engine s not sezied ] and how did you test the battery and how did you test starter because if the engines not seized and you put a jump lead from your positive terminal off a good battery to a starters main terminal and it wont, turn over the starters faulty or there is no engine earth so connect the other jump lead from the negative battery teminal to the engine block and try again it will turn over if the starters good if the starter turns over with the jump leads check the small terminal on the starters wire is live when someone turns the ignition key if it is and the starter does not turn over then the soleniod on the starter is faulty if no live at small terminal then the ignition switch or starter relay are faulty best of luck yates2104546
