What tools do i need to change fuel filter and where is the filter located at on the car?

The only true tools you need is your hands, pliers/blade screwdriver. The fuel filter is located in the undercarriage rear adjacent to the left side of the fuel tank. It is bolted with a singular screw onto the uniframe just to the side of the rear-left wheel. The filter is equipped with quick-release connecters that require a firm grip and tug, releasing the fuel lines from the filter. You might want to use a fat blade screwdriver and/or pliers to pull back the connecters, only don't use too much force as this will crack the plastic keepers, defeating the entire job. Be patient but firm and all will work out.

Where is the fuel filter located

The fuel filter (2) is located under the rear of the car, behind the fuel tank. There is no service interval for fuel filter replacement. Replacement is required only if the fuel filter becomes restricted. e37512d.gif

Locate fuel filter on a 1990 190e mercedes

The fuel filter is located under the car just in front the of rear axle near the right side (passenger side if you're in the USA). It's right there with the fuel pump. Make sure you depressurize the fuel line before changing it though. :) Also have a fire extinguisher close by - just in case things get crazy.

I would like to know how to replace the fuel filter on a 1998 Pontiac Firebird.

The fuel filter is in-line. It is located under the vehicle on the driver's side. It is very close to the rear of the driver's door. It is not very big and very easy to change. You will see the fuel lines running along the bottom of the car. Just follow it until you see the filter. It is about a foot and a half in front of the rear wheel on the driver's side. it is very close to the outer part of the car, maybe about six inches.
