Question about 2002 Saturn Sl

1 Answer

Car wont start. I have worked on cars before and it appears to be an electrical problem. It does nothing when I turn the key. The battery is good, The starter is good. The fuses are good. It has to be something from the ignition switch to the wires from the battery or starter. Have other people had this problem and if so can you tell me what you did about it? This has heppened before and then you wait a day or two and the car starts again. Weirdest thing ive ever seen. Any help is appreciated.

It's the starter. the one thing I didnt think about was tapping it. I turned it and guessed since that didnt work it couldnt be it. I think what is happening is oil is dripping onto it and then when it cools down it starts again.. which would explain why it doesnt start and then you wait a couple of days and then it starts again..it seems everyone is having this problem. By the way a real nice place to put a starter Saturn!! between the firewall and the engine so it's unreachable.. hell you cant even see it all that well...thanks for the help

New battery In mercedes no power

I'm not a car mechanic, but, it sounds like you might want to check the fuse to the ignition switch, and, if that fails, it might be a problem with the Start Safety Switch on the transmission. Good luck.

Sounds like the ignition switch to me. Unless you are really skilled, I wouldn't try that one. Take it to a good mechanic.

Audi a3 no start

How do you know the battery is fine? Sure sounds like you have a weak battery- the symptoms are all the electrical bits work- except starting the car. All your electrical systems don't need much current, but your starter needs a lot. If your battery isn't fresh then your car won't start, but everything else will appear to work. You can test the battery by looking at voltage across the terminals when you try to start the car, if it's less than 12 volts your battery needs to be replaced. If your battery is more than 5 years old it should be replaced anyway. Good luck, let us know how it goes.

Car wont crank

I have a 2000 Olds Intrigue that has the starting problem that some people have spoke about. You turn the key and all lights come on but the car will not start nothing. I 1st replaced the ignition switch which did not correct the problem. To get around the problem I have connected a wire to my starter and ran the wire up to the battery and when the car acts up I take the wire touch the positive pole on the battery post and the starter will turn over. I then get in my car and use the key and start the car. I have not been stranded by the car since. I try the key a few times if nothing happens I'll wait a few minutes and if that does not do it I jump the starter with my wire. This has been working for the last 2 years. It's not a correction but it is a work around.

No electrical. Car worked fine yesterday. Turn key, and nothing.

Either there is a bad connection on the battery (MUST BE METAL TO METAL CONTACT)
Or you could have a bad ignition module. Most likey cause is battery or connections
