Check engine light blinking also loose power while driving

This is a 3.3 engine, automaicatic when i have it check the code say replace coil pack. I have replace it three times, with the same out come.

There is no code for replacing a coil pack, you must be getting a random mifire P0300. if plugs and wires are ok, check fuel injectors and for vacuum leaks around intake, especially if fuel trim shows lean

I believe there is a igniter that u have to replace to as well as the coil packs

2000 ford explorer Have a p0305 code started a while back when accelerating to pass a car the truck would **** and the check engine light would blink but once i take foot of the gas it would go back to...


A PO305 code is for a Cylinder #5 misfire code. This would definitely cause a lack of power when passing and would cause the check engine light to blink when you are into the throttle and then stop once you let off the throttle. This could be caused by a faulty coil pack or a bad spark plug for that cylinder. I dont know which engine you have in this vehicle, but if each spark plug has its own coil, you can try unplugging the coil pack for cylinder # 5 while the vehicle is running and if it changes the way it runs then the coil pack is probably good, but if there is no change when you unplug the electrical connector, there is a good chance the coil pack is bad. It is not unusual for these coil packs to burn out.

When i start my 2001 kia optima my car putters. i changed my bad o2 sensors. but not sure what the problem is. and when i drive sometimes it jerks. what could the problem be


The spark and fuel system needs to be inspected.--------- The spark plugs are getting fouled or very loose, can cause sputtering problem.Inspect the spark plugs and coil packs.The spark plugs gets power from coil pack.If the spark plugs are very old and dirty, then it needs to be replaced.--------------- The **** problem also relates to faulty worn out spark plugs or clogged fuel filter or low fuel pressure or problem with ignition coil pack.----------- When coil pack stops giving power to spark plug the car will **** while driving.---------- So very first thing you get tested is spark plugs and ignition coil packs.If they are tested good, but looks very dirty/ worn out, that can also be the reason.----------- But if spark plugs and ignition coil tested ok and cleaned properly, but still same problem, then get fuel pressure tested.If fuel pressure is low, the fuel pump and fuel filter are the cause of problem.----------- ------------------ Also one more thing, " IS there check engine light coming ON dash" ? If yes, then get the car scanned at autozone service center.Its absolutely free to get car scanned at autozone.They do it for no charge.------- In scanning you will get error codes, as per error codes, it will point towards faulty part, causing this sputtering and jerking problem.----------------- But if there is no check engine light ion dash, then get the above mentioned possibilities checked.That will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I hope our chat was informative. I am assuming, since you said your Jeep is equipped with a V-6 that it is a 4.7L. You can't swap plug wires because there are none, but you can swap coil packs from one cylinder to another to eliminate the coil pack as the cause of your misfire. As for the "solution" above that says to replace your catalytic converter, all I have to say is if you are not getting the "dreaded" code P0420 "Catalytic Converter Efficiency Below Threshold" - don't worry about the cat. - you MAY get this code once the misfire is fixed, but I wouldn't run out and lay down hundreds of dollars on a converter until the computer tells me it is time....and simply "resetting" codes doesn't fix ANYTHING!!! Just resetting codes and continuing to operate the vehicle with a misfire problem is a sure-fire way to guarantee that the catalyst will need to be replaced. Misfires destroy catalytic converters. Let's hope you get it fixed BEFORE this happens!

Check engine light is blinking on1999 es300 lexus and traction control light is on also


take to local part store (autozone) and they will ck code for free have feeling going to be a p0300,p0301-p0306 which is a cylinder missfire start by swapping coil packs and see if missfire moves with a certain coil if so replace coil remeber the 3 cylinders in the front are 2,4,6,from front of engine let me know and pleases rate

Misfire in two cylinders


Check to see if the two cylinders misfiring are on the same coil pack. If so, change the coil pack in question.

This happened to me on 1997 Cadillac Deville Limousine.

Also, check for a blown head gasket with compression test.

I have a 2001 Mercury Sable the check engine light is on it also blinks at times. I have done a oil change also air filter and oil filter checked the spark plugs and replace an air flow hose the engine...


First I recommend you get an auto repair/maintence manual for about 20.00. by Chilton or Haynes then check trouble codes for your sable, this manual is reasonable and will aid you in any further and future repairs. this manual is the type I use, I work on or vehicles-( shady tree mechanic)

Blinking Check Engine light


This is typically a sign of a "detrimental misfire". A blinking check engine light means DON'T DRIVE ME! You may want to have your coil pack checked, plugs replaced or gapped properly, or wires replaced. Would also have to do with the camshaft sensor causing your timing to be off.
