Don't sweat the fuel filter. I'd check the coolant temperature sensor - it tells the computer if the engine is warm, cool, hot, cold, and the computer then fuels accordingly (each temp range requires different fueling mixtures). If the sensor has gone out of whack, the engine may not be fueling properly for the temperature, and could be causing your issues.

Wont start when cold outside turns over

First thing I would do is first day it warms up and starts put some fuel conditioner in the fuel tank you might have water in the fuel. That will if gets in the fuel filter will freeze and prevent fuel from getting to the engine. As to why it will start unless its cold out side. That would be the first thing I would try. Good luck.

!999 dodge caravan will start and run great. If I turn it off when it is warmed up and restart it it misses. If I don.t turn it off it will run good all day.

A possibility is the EGR valve is ganked up with exhaust deposits....and there is no guarantee that the vacuum diaphragm actuator actually is doing it's job.

check and make sure your fuel filter is not clogged. if that's fine you may need to change your idle air control valve

Does a1987 Dodge 150 pickup truck 4x4 have a fuel regulator? If so where is it located?

if it starts OK when warm , but not when cold , I would say it is the temperature sensor, sometimes on the intake manifold, engine block, or even the radiator, but don't confuse it with the fan sensor on the rad.

How hard is it to change the fule filter on a 2000

beside tank. Be careful, sometimes it helps to lower tank slightly. Special tools are needed, and if you break the top of the tank fitting, you will need a fuel pump.

98 dodge caravan 3 liter ticks on cold start,

SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE STICKY LASH ADJUSTER(LIFTER)..MANY MILES ON IT?HAVE YOU BEEN GOOD TO CHANGE OIL AND FILTER?TRY CHANGING THE OIL AND FILTER AND ADDING AN OIL SUPPLEMENT ..IF THIS DOESN'T WORK,YOU WILL HAVE TO ISOLATE WHICH BANK OF ENGINE NOISE IS COMING FROM,REMOVE VALVE COVER AND YOU CAN TO SEE WHICH ONE(S) ARE MAKING NOISE..PUSH DOWN ON EACH ROCKER ARM..A BAD ONE WILL BE SOFT..A GOOD ONE WILL BE HARD..NO LASH..TO REPLACE..YOU REMOVE ROCKER SHAFT BOLTS AND ROCKER SHAFTS..YOU CAN PURCHASE ONLY THE ONE(S) YOU NEED..BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE ROCKER SHAFTS..THE LIFTERS CAN FALL OUT..GET A STICKY GREASE TO HOLD THEM IN ROCKER ARMS DURING REASSEMBLY..I HOPE THIS HELPS

The check valve on the fuel line at the filter housing may be leaking back not maintaining pressure when the engine is not running.
