Question about 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier
The blower moter is located under the hood on the right side of the
heater box at the firewall. Remove the power wire plug from the blower
then slide the cooling tube out, remove the mounting screws from the
flange around the blower and slowly remove the blower try to avoid any
damage to the gasket in case you did not get a new one. Now do this
backwards with a new blower and thats it. Hope this helps.

It is located on the passenger side under the instrument panel near the blower motor. There are a couple of screw that have to be removed and the resistor card pulls down and out. Note: it is a very tight design and carpet sound mats have to be pushed in a bit to access one of the screws.

Your problem can also be a bad blower resistor. But, the replacement of either the resistor or the motor is not hard at all.
