The Common Problem first is the inside of the throttle body is gummed up.since you cant see through the screen to check it take off the IAC valve and stick your pinky finger in the hole and pull it out-as in most cases if your finger is black, it needs to be cleaned out. Second- If the "check Engine" light stays on while engine is running, Use a scanner/code reader and run the codes- if it shows code 102 or Mass Air Flow Sensor- "Low Voltage" most likely the connector that plugs into sensor is loose or bad- carefully pinch the prongs abit in the connector to give it a tight connection- (remember to also clear the code) if after your still getting same code then replace the connecter plug.the other job is to take off the throttle body housing from the plentum, along with all sensors attached to it and clean out the insides of it (use Q-tips in the tight area's) with carb cleaner spray or gas. also spray the idle control valve and wipe clean with cloth. then reinstall.and the problem will be fixed.

Problem with my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix not staying running at an idle. When driving it is fine just when I let off of the gas pedal the rpms drops and it stalls

The first thing that comes to mind, is a transmission problem. Look under the hood for the trans dipstick and check the level of that fluid first.

My car starts to hesitate going up inclines not always but its like its not getting the gas causing the RPMS to go up

There may be a problem with your transmission and the way your car is shifting. Take it to a shop and get it checked out.

Just R&R a motor in a 2002 pontiac grand prix GTP-Supercharged. started up after a few cranks and a shot of ether. But idles very high and when we test drove it shifted fine on the first run but wont...

To fix the high idle, replace the top oxygen sensor. I would drop the transmission pan and change the transmission filter. You can then check the old fluid for contamination and metal filings. Metal filings will clog the transmission filter and lead to low pressure that would cause delayed shifts

check all fuses for turn signal and brake lights.change fuel filter . first. do a little tune up change spark plugs and wires . if changing fuel filter dont help. have fuel pressure check first before buying a new fuel pump .they run after taxes 400.00 dollars. your fuel pressure should be 41 to 47 psi. replace fuel pump relay also.
