Question about 2001 Nissan Sentra

1 Answer

Had bad ignition coil replaced in Nissan Sentra 2001. Error code 300 and 335 were prevalent. After replacement had Camshaft Sensor replaced, still get error code 335. Thinking maybe one more ignition coil is weak? Compression is good, brand new plugs, and new plenum, plus cleaning. Error code 335 is still there. Have stumped 3 techs as it is intemittent.

Please have a test performed to confirm the integrity of your head gasket. this era of these cars were prone to failure, causing coolant to leak into the cylinder thus a misfire. it is typically most noticeable on a cold start, and can cause long cranking times, as well as a rough idle when first started. good luck!

No spark on 2002 sentra se-r replaced crankshaft sensor and camshaft sensor.

heres a list, ignition components damp or damaged, worn or faulty spark plugs, broken...loose....or disconnectedwiring in starting circuit, loose distributor changing ignition timing, ignition coil loose...faulty or disconnected wires. its good your cam & crank sensors were changed, but no spark indicates coil packs not able to get spark to plugs, but spark plugs may be fouled, replace them. replace distributor cap & rotor. check fuses, there's one for the ignition switch, check it. try all this see how it does,, also, if you haven't replaced both the AIR & FUEL FILTERS , DO SO !!!!!!!! just for thought, my daughter has a sentra gxe,2002, it started losing power on the highway, we had to have nissan replace it, $900 , you may have to deal with this, sell the car ! when you get it running, if you want. although , after we did repairs, tune-up, timing belt (not chain), etc., it runs like a top, she loves it ! good car if you ask me, just keep filters new, brakes good, it will go forever !

2001 Nissan Sentra 1.8L has no spark and won't start. Starter motors fine and battery is charged. No spark! it has a full tank of gas too. Please Help!

There are several things that can cause your engine to not have spark. It could be a crankshaft position sensor or the circuits to the sensor, it could be the security system "thinking" that the car is being stolen and has the ignition system locked out. It could be the ignition voltage circuit to the ignition coils, etc., etc....

In any case, your ignition system must be diagnosed to find the cause. This would include scanning the computers that control your ignition and security systems for possible fault codes.

have you cheeked the ignition (coil ) ?? probably it is
because we learnt it (the coil) comes down after engine high temperatures
yes i know if car cools down and turn on again it is surely bad coil
but some times the coil is just dead not only bad

2001 Beetle..Ignition coil has to be replaced every 30 days or so..what could be causing this to happen?

Do you have DTC P0300 which is a misfire? If you do and you have replaced the coil pack several times you may have other problems which causes it to misfire. Bad injectors, bad fuel pump, bad camshaft position sensor, bad fuel pump relay and low on fuel can cause a misfire. The cylinder that has bad fuel delivery will cause a DTC thinking it's a misfire. The same thing goes with a bad camshaft position sensor.

I need a engine diagram to replace camshaft sensor

there is actually no camshaft sensor,,,it will set a code P0341 camshaft performance code but there is NO cam sensor,,,,it means secondary ignition is the fault,,,,,like old and worn spark plugs and wires, coil packs corroded, ignition module high resistance, coolant temp sensor bad, crank sensor going bad, those are all the possible reasons for that code,if the plugs and wires are old replace them FIRST also when you remove the wires from the coils make sure there is NO corrosion on the towers,if there is you need a new coil pack,,,,DO NOT use platinum spark plugs, this will cause this code to set, these cars are VERY sensitive to this,,,use regualr plugs like ac delco or ngk but no platinum,,,,,clear code and see if resets
