The cables are connected to regulator. The window regulator. If the cables are short or failed then in most cases the window regulator needs to be replaced as the cable and regulator is one unit connected to the window motor. But if the cable is just having cut in between then re connecting the two wires again in cable will help. pulled the door panel loosened the clips holding the glass and slid it out of the way. Then it was 5 bolts an electrical connection and out. My regulator had shredded too the whole change out took 20 minutes. ------------ To remove door panel, first pry off door lock and plastic covers by handle and door latch. Remove the 3 door bolts and then remove door panel by pring loose all panel fasteners. Remove door latch cable from door panel. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. Montana 2002 driver window stuck

window stuck, this may be due to a bad window motor or window regulator, see if you can move the window by hand, does it go up or down? if it does not then you will still need to remove door panel and look at regulator to see if cables are jammed up, if they are then replace the regulator and motor as one, if cables are good and nothing is broken then test motor for power and ground while operating the switch, this will tell you if it is the switch or motor,

Window stuck

Power Window: If it's a power window check to see if there is power coming from the window switch with a test light or multimeter. If power is coming from the switch, look in the door where it pivots and check to see if any wires are cracked or broken. If there is no borken wires, then it's possible that the power window motor is not working. If you hear the power window motor working or operating it's possible the window regulator is broken or binded up
Manual Window: If it's a manual window, take the door panel off and check the regulator (part where the window is attached) and looked for any signs that the cable in the part has come free or binded up. Try to roll window up and down to find any signs of the broken cable. If that is the case, then you need a window regulator.

2002 Impala driver's window stuck down, seems like bad regulator as all other windows still work. Would like to know how to manually get window up so I have some security until I have time to take it...

If it's electric it could be the motor too,, remove the inside door panel, to get access to the inside of the door,, once in,, look for the 2 wires that hook up to the window motor, unplug the connector, and supply the motor with 12volts DC from an outside source, Like jumper cables with jumper wires with alligator clips, if it works its the regulator, or possibly the window relay for that door, if its a manual window, ( hand crank, your going to have to replace the regulator to get the window up, you could unhook the window from this, But keeping the window up could be a problem

Power window not working on my 2002 GMC Yukon Denali

this is an easy one, the window regulator has broken. just remove the door panel by removing the screws under the handle and behind the window switch, also the triangle piece behind the mirror will need removed, and the plastic piece behind the handle u use to open the door, then u should be able to remove the panel by lifting it up because it kinda hooks into the door. then remove the bolts holding in the regulator (use the new regulator as a reference to locate the bolts) and replace the regulator. should be an easy repair

Door panel on passenger side window will not go up or down but can hear motor running when I push the button.

Your window is moved by a cable driven regulator that raps around your window motor when the cable brakes the motor still turns. This is a all in one unit motor and regulator.About $110 for the part at your local parts store So replace this unit and this will fix your problem :)

Window on my 2001 F150 went down & got stuck. Removed the panel and removed the glass from the track (taped up for now). It looks like I have to drill out rivets to remove the motor. The motor clicks on...

I am guessing that you have the door panel off already so take the window all the way up and take some duct tape and secure the window up all the way. Remove the front door window glass to regulator assembly bolts. Loosen the glass clamp fasteners through the 2 vertical slots in the inner door panel. To install tighten to 80 inch pounds. If equipped disconnect the front door window electrical connector. Remove the front door window regulator bolts to install tighten to 8 foot pounds. Remove the front door window regulator and motor. To install in reverse order.

Driver's side window stuck open.

unfortuanately the window has come off the track... happens for various reasons... on my windstar the side rail spot weld broke so the rail/track came off... i had to take the bracket out ... drill out the spot weld and put it back together with a rivet ... put the window back and it's been good since.... basically you will need to take the door panel off to see why it came off the track.
