Question about 2005 GMC Sierra
2005 GMC Sierra
The AC is the electronic control tyoe, what could cause the AC to work normal on passenger side, but blow hot air from drivers side.
Are the doors operated by vacuum or by electronics?
The temperature control doors are controlled with electric actuators. Often what happens is either the drivers or passenger side temp door actuator will work properly for a while then suddenly move the door all the way to hot or cold [usually hot]. If you shut off the vehicle, wait a bit and restart it, if often will work fine for a time but then act up again after a while. I've replaced quite a few actuators for just this problem. They are located behind the dash on the HVAC unit and are fairly difficult to get to. I don't know if these actuators are available at parts stores yet but I get all of mine from the local GM dealer.
