Take one of the know good coil pack's, from cylinder 3 or 4 and swap it to cylinder 1 or 2, if it start's to fire replace bad coil pack.

#1 and #4 are not firing I changed the coil pack and still no change any ideas

You said you changed the coil pack and the wires but didn't mention the plugs. Try moving one of the plugs to a different cylinder and see if the miss follows it. It could also be the ignition module. (the thing the coil packs mount to.)

I have a '97 cavalier and it won't fire after I changed the plugs. I believe the wires are on the correct plugs. however, if I take a plug out and leave it in the wire, set it on engine block, the...

1 coil pack is for cylinder 1 & 3 . The 1st & 3rd....moving back from the belts. 1 is on the top, three on the bottm of the coil. 2 & 4 should be the same, 2nd cylinder, 2nd back from the belts & top on the coil pack. 4 the last plug & lowest on the second coil pack. PLEASE NOTE: , A Handyman's Service manual, from an auto store can VERIFY THIS. My last experience was with the 1987- 1991 GM "Quad" 4 engines. One of the other experts on "FixYa" corrected a mistake I made on a newewr model. SO I WOULD CHECK this advise to A MANUAL. I was wrong on the other one I answewred, & do not want to add to your frustration. I have looked around my textbooks, I do not have one on that car, I have given it away.

Why am i only getting fire out of 2 cylindars

if the spark plugs are still firing it could be either fuel problems, if its fuel injected check that the injectors are pulsating, use a voltmeter on them and should be about 3v. may need to use a compression tester with the spark plug out to see if there is any compression left aswell.

I need the firing orderfor a 1941 series 61 cadi. flat head v 8

Another Alternate Method For In-Line Engines An alternate and perhaps somewhat quicker method is to follow the accompanying diagram which is arranged so that any piston can be at top center to start.

426a969.gif
On Straight 8 Cars

Start with the cylinder in the firing position (piston up, both valve lifters down) and work around the diagram in the direction of the arrow. Count the cylinder in firing position as the first cylinder.
1st—Both.
2nd—Exhaust.
3rd—Inlet.
4th—Inlet.
5th—Exhaust valve.
6th—Exhaust valve.
7th—Inlet.
8th—None.
Rotate the engine one full turn to bring the same pair of pistons to top center, but now the opposite cylinder will be in firing position. Again start with the cylinder in the firing position and again work around the chart in the direction of the arrow.

Need the firing order for 1999 Chevy S-10 4 Cyl 2.2L

I believe it firing order is 1-4-2-3 (where cyclinder #1 is the closest to the fire wall) and your distributer has the plug wires running almost vertically.

1st cylinder = the very bottom
4th cylinder = second from the bottom
2nd cylinder = second from the top
3rd cylinder = the top connection on the distributer.

I hope this helps and good luck

Problem with fireing order on suzuki 1.3 w/coils pack

cannot be specific, had a 98 (now a 99). remember they fire twice- compression and exhaust. if you don't get and answer soon, look up firing order and everyother one should fire together, limiting combinations to two. It doesn't care what stroke it is on
