Question about 2004 Ford F150

1 Answer

When I first start my truck it seems to be running on a few cylenders. I have read the codes and they show misfires on most cylenders. After warming up it seems to run fine. Is this a common problem? Is there anything I can check?

ONCE WARMED UP AND DRIVING ALONG, IT STARTS MISFIRE,THEN IT WILL LIKE KICK IN AND NOT MISFIRE,IT KEEPS DOING THIS,,SOMETIMES I LET OFF GAS,THEN GIVE IT GAS,IT RUNS GOOD FOR A FEW SECONDS,THEN MISFIRES

First, it will go a lot better if you tell us what it is... Make, model, year.

Could be loose wire to ignition, computer or fuel system. Without knowing what the car or truck is, the codes don't help.

2007 murano runs rough at cold start then runs fine

misfire can be from plugs and also from injectors. It it is fine when it warms up I would be looking at injector tip problems from the cold.

2005 Ford F150 fuel pump not turning on with ignition and misfiring cylenders

Air in the injector lines #1 and #6? Also if its diesel check the preheating system (plugs/wires/fuses)

I wouldn't recommend continuous use of starter fluid!

Rough idle jetta 2001 1.8t when it's cold codes p0300 and p0302

p 0300 is random misfires and 0302 is no 2 cylinder misfire
most misfires are from dirty injectors rather than plugs
run a quality injector cleaner and see if there is improvement

Hello, Check/replace distributor caps and rotors. They will cause this problem.
If you find this information to be correct would you please enter a "fixya" rating.

The first thing I would do for multiple misfire codes is clean the MAF. The oil likes to leak around the chain tensioner and around the timing cover. Check for visual leaks on the front and back of the motor. A quart of oil burning every 5000 miles is not much at all.
