Do a red wire from alternator suppose to be connected to battery on a 1992 deville with heated w/s

Hi, if the wire is connected by a nut on the back of the alternator it can go either to the battery or to the starter solenoid.

60A fuse ignition switch blowing out when i crank my 1992 cadillac sedan deville 4.9 base

fuse may just be old and failed or your started is bad and you have a dead short.
you want to try and fix it.
first replace the fuse.
check the wiring form battery to starter relay to starter - if all ok
disconnect the starter and start the car with the starter disconnected ( car will not start) does the fuse blow.
I hope not. - if it does you may have bigger problems.
now replace the starter, it is probably locked up. unless the engine has seized.

My 1992 cadillac eldorado starter went out about two months ago i just changed the starter and the battery but it wont even click tried to jump it but that wont work either...any answers?

Did you check the condition of the positive cable or the large red power cable going down to the starter solenoid, and do you have 12 volts at the solenoid when you turn the key to the start position, this will be the small wire and terminal on the starter solenoid, if this has all been checked I would test the starter solenoid itself next. If you are not getting 12 volts when turning the key to the start position, you should double check fuses, and then possibly the ignition switch. Hope this gives you some other troubleshooting choices. Good luck and Happy Holidays!

Car won't start, battery power loss could it be the alternator?

Alternator should have better than 13.5v output with all accessories on including headlamps.Check with volt meter right at battery terminals (running) If not it's not working properly. Doubtful from what you have said that starter is bad. Also check that terminal connections are clean and tight on battery.

Wont start help!

Recheck the charge on the battery, make sure it's fully charged.Check all connections at the battery and at the starter.Possibly a bad starter. If the starter is ruled out, then look at the teeth on the flexplate/flywheel.I would remove the starter and test it.
