First if the truck is 4wd make sure the transfer case is not in neutral.
Next check the drive shaft to see that it's still attached. For the next step you should have a helper, jack up the drive wheels(rear on 2wd
front+rear on 4wd) have your help start the truck and put in drive and
see if the drive shaft spins into the rear end. If it spins the problem is in
the rear end, if not the problem is transmission related(or transfer case
if 4wd) Thats the best info I can give you without the make/model+year etc. Hope this helps.

I have a 1991 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder automatic transmission. I was driving about 10 mph when it just stopped moving. The engine starts and runs fine but when I put it in drive or reverse it won't drive....

You have internal problems with it. Clutches are bad, or could be a hard part broken. The grinding is from the inside of the transmission turn and you put it in park. This is a normal sound, if you were driving and slammed it in park. Except your not moving.

I was at a stop light and something under the hood just popped and when i tried to accelerate the car wouldnt move

Did it make a grinding noise when you put it in park? From what little information I have to go on. I'm going to guess that one of the Constant Velocity (CV) joints on one of the axles broke.

Transfer case

The shift solenoid is not controlling the gearing and selection. Should have it ck'd out before it puts you through the windshield. Good Luck. It's more than likely just the solenoid floating.
