Question about 2001 Saab 9-3
2001 saab 9 3 won't start. I can jump start it (it's a standard transmission obviously) but it won't start with the key. Sounds like the starter is trying to engage but the engine is not turning over at all. It's a 2.0T.
If you can jump start it, I am leaning towards a new battery. I recently bought a new battery as my 6-year old Optima (red top) refused to hold charge. Jump-starts and compression starts (rough on transmission) were OK.

Sounds like your starter motor is bad. Is the starter motor spinning?
