Question about Dodge Durango

Open Question

Hey the factory amp in my 2004 Dodge Durango is not working properly. I hear from all the speakers except the passenger door speaker. I replaced the speaker and I took it to my friend who owns a shop he does auto sound security and electrical work he says the factory amp is bad. I would just like to know where it is located as I am a mechanic and will check myself just wanted someone else to check.

SOURCE: volume low on all four speakers, some static (amp or head unit problem)

I would check the amp first, especially if you have very low sound on the speakers. Before amps were made, bad output transistors would create the same effect.

SOURCE: how do i remove the factory stereo

take the plastic thing off that goes all the way around the guages or w.e. then ther should b 2 bolts on the front of the stereo take them out. take out the radio n unconnect wires. then get a wire kit n plug it in and hook it up. if the speakers dont work either get new ones or rewire them using all different wires.

SOURCE: I have a 2008 Chevy

I have the same issue! The speakers are probably still good, because my speakers will randomly come back on, one here, one there, then it'll be gone the next speed bump or use of the door. I have thought it is more than likely a wiring connection inside the doors. My truck is a 2005 Silverado. I've had my dash apart to repair my speedometer and the wiring connections there seemed secure when attempting to make a speaker work or not work by manipulating the wires and connectors.

My back speaker doesn´t work,, everything is

It sounds like it's your radio if it's the OEM. To make it somple the factory radio had there separate amp muilt in each chanel so if one speaker went bad the others woudl still play. There is no quick fix other then haveing it replaced or if have it repaired.Good luck and just dubble check all the connections

HOW TO INSTALL AMP INTO A FACTORY RADIO IN DODGE DURANGO 2002

You can buy adaptor plugs that allow a simple hook up at most car stereo places.  However, when you increase the power going to the speakers you also have to replace the speakers to handle the higher power or you'll toast them.
