Question about Cars & Trucks

I would like to tow my 2007 GX470 behind my motor home. I'm told people simply put the car in neutral and tow with the appropriate tow bar lights and assistend breaking system. I also understand there is a driveshaft disconnect available that includes a modified driveshaft. do you know anything about either of these two means of towing?

My wife and I are in the middle of planning a long camping trip this summer, hopefully aiming for the middle of July. My grandfather was kind enough to offer us use of his motor home to make the trip a bit easier. There is a bit of a snag however, neither my wife or myself know how to tow our car behind us safely. Any suggestions?http://www.tiptoptowing.ca/?page_id=13

You can flat tow it. Transfer case in neutral, transmission in park. You need a key one click on to so the steering wheel turns. If your towing behind a motor home you need brakes and lights. Research Blue OX

It's always best to remove the drive shaft. Short hauls, put it in neutral.

How do i use the neutral safety switch? In order to tow the Jimmy behind a motor home.

We'll if your taking a long trip I think for safety reasons remove the drive shaft put a plastic around the back York of the transmission with a big rubber ban or black tape then replace it what you get there because if the trans kits in to gear while the drive shaft is on you could burn it nor worth it it's easy to remove 4 bolts good luck

Lincoln mkx chugging and no power

You can tow your MKX behind your motor home. I've been doing it for years. Your owners manual tells you how to do it. You must tow it by all wheels up or all wheels down. You can not use a tow dolly. Make certain that you get a good tow bar system and have it installed. It took them a day to install mine. But I feel safe towing it.
Have fun RVing.

I need to find out how to tow a jeep grand cherokee limited with full time 4 wheel drive all 4 wheels down behind a motor home. I hope you can help me. Thank you

You can tow in with the transfer case in neutral as long as all 4 wheels are on the ground like with a tow bar.If you use a tow dolly you will have to remove the rear drive shaft. This transfer case has a viscous coupling that will over heat if all the wheel dont turn at the same rate.
