Maybe you have a short in the ignition switch. Put the battery back on, and everything connected EXCEPT the small red wire to the starter relay. Key off, of course. Now connect the red wire to the relay: if this causes the starter to engage, you probably need a new ignition switch.

I installed my starter on my 99 ford f150 and all it does is click it won't turn over

Your battery may not be strong enough. Measure your battery voltage. I should be between 12.5 to 14 volts. If not, get a jump and try to start your car. See how long it runs. Turn the engine off and try to restart. If you still have a problem then you need to purchase a new battery keeping in mind you need the right battery size for your car.

1987 f150 that has no power with the key in the "on" position.

locate your fusible link wires leading from your battery the and the electrical harness, you may not be getting the accessory power to your key switch and this is supplied via this fuse wire located near the battery

I just changed the starter and the truck still wont start it just clicks

did you check the battery? the starter may not have been your problem. check the clamps and posts for corrosion. take them off and sand or wire brush both surfaces til clean. put it back together making sure connections are tight. if it still won't start, put a battery charger on it for several hours. if you have one, then try to start it again. if it still won't start, take the battery to your local walmart or auto parts store. They usually will test it for free. It may have to be replaced. good luck

If u haven't taken it in to the dealer yet then do so. There was a recall for faulty cruise control wiring which caused my dads truck to do the same thing. That wiring tends to start on fire so i suggest doin it sooner rather than later.

Location of alternator 1986 ford f150 xlt lariat

Well first have you charged your battery back up, if so then try to by pass the ingintion switch by just connecting the two main post of the colenoid with a piece or wire, this creates a direct wire basically from your battery to your starter, if still no luck you will need a new starter located more to the drivers side close to right under the pedels on the bottom side of the truck.
