I have a 2006 range rover sport and the ac suddenly stopped working. No air blows from the vent either hot or cold. Slight noice comes from under the passanger seat when the system is turned on and off. Any ideas?

Sounds like you either need a new blower motor that's inside the dash, or a new AC compressor.

If the air flow cannot be controlled from vent/defrost/floor you may have a blend door issue. This is an electric motor that operates a door in the heating system to control airflow. There are usually 3 motors controlling airflow direction,heat and recirculation. The Ac not blowing cold may also be another problem. If the AC is operational, the compressor will be engaged and the Ac low pressure line under the hood will bw cold. If this is all ok then a blend door issue should be suspected

The P38 HEVAC system includes blend motors under the dash that mixes hot and cold air. Most likely these or the contacts have failed. Not a job you should try to do yourself so find a speclalist LR shop (not a dealer unless you take out a new bank loan first). Get them to check the heater core and hoses if they need to get that far in - it is a swine of a job and should all be done at the same time

check the freon charge for the a/c system to low can shut off the cutch

The drain on the evaporator is stopped up,look for it directly bellow the ac lines ,where they go into the car,under the hood,it will be on the bottom of the blower box,use air pressure to blow into the drain to clear it out.

system needs serviced possible low on ac fluid.

This is a common problem when the AC system has a low charge.
If this is the case, you have a leak somewhere. Do not try to fix it yourself without the proper equipment.

Low coolant through the heater core. Yes it could be the theromostat.
