The crank sensor is located near the crankshaft of the engine, the shaft that rotates the pistons up and down inside the internal combustion engine.

So look for wires that lead from the harness to this sensor and you'll find it.

It's just a pickup coil.

SOURCE: crank position sensor location

you will need to remove the starter to gain acess to the ckp sensor. once you remove the starter look on the engine block and you will see the sensor. The only problem with doing this repair yourself is that you will not be able to preform the crankshaft position variation learn procedure with out a factory scan tool. The vehicle may crank an run, but the timing advance curves will be wrong so the vehicle will probably cut off every time you remove your foot from the gas pedal. Hope this info helps!

Where's the crankshaft position sensor A circuit range/performance

The "crankshaft position sensor A circuit range/performance" describes a failure of the crank position circuit and not necessarily the crank position sensor. It requires further troubleshooting.

https://www.1aauto.com/content/articles/crank-sensor-testing#:~:text=There%20are%20a%20number%20of,replace%20your%20crankshaft%20position%20sensor.

The sensor location is engine specific so you'll need to include the year, make, model, and engine.

Where is the crank sensor located? Not the position sensor.

They are both the same sensor. Year make and model helps. But some are behind the harmonic balancer, some or mounted to the transmission. On some older models, they are in the block close to the transmission side.

Where can I find the crank sensor on a 2009 Nissan Titan v8 truck?

i think it's the starter. On most nissans, the starter and the crank position sensor are close to each other. Some nissans have 4 position sensors, between crank sensor, crank angle sensor, cam position sensor, and sensor sensing sensor, oh and cam angle sensor. Oh wait, maybe it's a bad ground. Nope, gotta be the staerter.

Camshaft position sensor location

crank sensor is a component used in an internal combustion engine to monitor the position or rotational speed of the crankshaft. This information is used by engine management systems to control ignition system timing and other engine parameters. Before electronic crank sensors were available, the distributor would have to be manually adjusted to a timing mark on the engine.

The crank sensor can be used in combination with a similar camshaft position sensor to monitor the relationship between the pistons and valves in the engine, which is particularly important in engines with variable valve timing. It is also commonly the primary source for the measurement of engine speed in revolutions per minute.

Crank sensors in engines are usually comprised of magnets and an inductive coil. They are principally based on the Hall effect. Common mounting locations include the main crank pulley, the flywheel, or occasionally on the crankshaft itself.

Some engines, such as GM's Premium V family utilise crank position sensors which read a reluctor ring integral to the Harmonic Balancer. This is a much more accurate method of determining the position of the crankshaft, and allows the computer to determine within a few degrees the exact position of the crankshaft (and thereby all connected components) at any given time.
