If motor and switch are ok and the motor is running, then it's the ball joints on the arms that have become disconnected underneath the windshield in the firewall vicinity. Also, the wiper arms could be stripped out.

Wiper dont work

Check all your fuses and breakers first. With the ignition turned to run check that you have power at the WCM, wiper control module, check the multifunction switch the wipers run off of, check wiper motor or linkage under the plastic cowling under the wiper blades, comes off easily with a few screws and clips.

1996 Mercury Grand Marquis wipers don't work. I changed the motor and the fuse isn't blown

You need to take the plastic cowls off that cover the wiper arm linkage and wiper transmission to inspect it...cowl is held on with 3 Phillips screws near windshield and some one inch wide metal clips, take off the gasket that fits on top. If both are not working check the transmission where linkages attach, if one wiper blade is not working it is usually the drivers side where the nylon bushing that forns a ball/socket sort of connection fails due to build up of debris and the rusting of parts that follows, let me know if this helps.

Installed new wiper motor on 1990 mercury grand marquis. Still not working. Can hear relay click at all positions of switch. Fuses OK. Need wiring diagram on plugs which go into wiper motor in order to...

circuit breaker ok too? I think it 8.5 amp in fuse panel under dash.

Next check the ground at the wiper motor, usually a black wire. You can also jumper a wire from the ground psot on he battery to the iwper motor. If it starts working then, you know it's a grounding problem. do that first & report results.

When i turn my windshield wipers off they go to the up position i have a 1996 grand marquis ls

You have a bad park in your wiper motor, just replace the wiper motor and it will fix your problem. I work for Yellow Cab of Kansas City and we have 240 crown vic's on our fleet. They are the same car pretty much and we have this problem all the time. Good Luck to ya!

Wiper speed control for a '97 Mercury Grand Marquis. What causes the wiper to work on high speed only?

Intermittent wiper control stopped working on my 1996 GM last spring. I ended up replacing the wiper motor ($100.00 part). Since I have found it on Amazon for $58 including shipping. It works fine now. Only bad part was all the "stuff" that has to come out (like dead leaves!) to get to the wiper motor. Also make sure you have your wipers in the down position when you replace the motor.
