Underneath steering wheel, part of air bag system. Allows wires to be connected and steering wheel to be turned. Horn and or steering wheel controls may also be connected to the clock spring

How to replace clock spring in a 1997 Nissan pickup ?

The clock spring is located behind the steering wheel. The steering wheel must be removed. The clock spring assembly will most likely have a clip on the steering shaft securing it in place. Remove the clip and the assembly will pull off once the wiring connector is disconnected

My horn quit working and airbag light came on after replacing starter and ignition switch. Help!! I have a 2001 dodge neon

I'm sorry but you may broke the clock spring connection from the column to the steering wheel.First make sure all the wire are connected under the dash after you work on ignition switch.
for clock spring disconnect the battery for 10 min.to discharge the SRS system.
turn the wheels and steering straight.
remove the airbag and store in safe place
remove the steering wheel
remove column cover
disconnect the clock spring and remove
installation in reverse order
the new clock spring have yellow lock tab. after removing the tab DO NOT turn the spring. the wire inside have limit of 2 1/2 turns each way.
good luck

I have a 2003 trailblazer and air bag light is on all the time

It could be clock spring is bad in the steering column. Most cars the blinkers, high beams, cruise control, horn, and air bag stuff are all hooked up to clock spring. If clock spring is the cause you'll start loosing functions of those things one after another.

95 impreza clock spring

The clock spring is not part of the airbag, it is under the steering wheel and provids a moving solid contact to the airbag on the steering wheel. Do not attempt any repairs to the system until you have read the factory warning about the disarming of the airbag system prior to starting any work to remove he steering wheel to get to the clock spring. Follow the installation instruction that comes with the new part exactly or the new clock spring will be ruined in short order.

I changed my clock spring i my 1994 f-150 and now i dont have sprk to start the truck. what could cause this?

I have an 04 f-150 got a recall on the clock spring, took it to the dealer and they changed the clock spring. It's possible that where you changed it yourself it may have to be re-programmed with a computer to reset it. Hope this helps, Mitchell.

OBD11tech thinks I have a bad clock spring on my 1999 jeep cherokee classic due to my horn not working & the air bag light stays on. Where is the clock spring & how do I change it?

it's inside the steering wheel
must be careful, because of the air bag.
disconnect the battery and wait for 10 minutes for the air bag capacitor to discharge power.
remove the air bag module from the steering wheel
remove the center nut, then steering wheel
the clock pring is a yellow round piece that fitted inside the steering column. there is a snap ring hold the clock spring in place. disconnect the wiring then remove the clock spring.
