Question about 2004 Chevrolet Suburban

2004 suburban changed engine and will not start, power and fuel up to rails and changed crank sensor. rolls over no power to injectors and plugs.check connections and fuses.

Change the fuel pump and still won't start on a 2002 chevy avalanche


Check for spark to the spark plugs, while cranking the engine. If no spark, you could have a bad ignition module, or a bad crankshaft position sensor. The crank sensor sends a signal to the computer, to start the fuel pump and signals the ignition module to start firing the spark plugs. It also drives the tachometer through the computer (PCM) Powertrain control module. The ignition module can be removed and taken to a parts store to have it tested. The crank position sensor is not as easy to test. Easier to just replace it. Good Luck. But wait, I have seen people replace the fuel pump, checked the fuel pump harness for power, and all was good. However, if the fuel pump does not have a GROUND, it will still not operate. Might want to check that. Have fun.

Fuel injectors


I doubt it.
The injectors get power from a fused circuit when the key is on.
Then the engine computer grounds each injector when it wants the injector to open.
You would first need to know if the injectors have power, then if they are getting a ground signal from the computer when the engine is cranked.

did it just start after you installed new sensor? what do mean by no power? no electrical like it wont crank?

2004 ford explorer will not start but turns over


For a no start , cranks over ok. be sure you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail first, before checking the injectors. There should be more that 40 psi at the rail... if not .. you might have a fuel pump problem. Even if you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail... the next thing I would check for,,, is spark !! Make sure you have spark at the spark plugs. The order would be... fuel pressure first and then spark , , then injector pulse. !! Then plugged exhaust.... then bad fuel then engine timing. The injectors have power to them all the time. The PCM controls the ground to the injectors. So you would have to monitor the ground side of the injectors. So checking injectors is kinda complicated. 2003 dodge cummins had to start runs great when started. i changed the lift pump/cp3 pump/2 injectors and cam sensor still have starting problems.


does the truck have any active codes, what is the fuel rail pressure getting up to while cranking, why did you replace the 2 injectors, why did you not put all six in? did you do this yourself, did you follow the correct procedure and properly torque everything. these engines are very sensitive to proper torque on fuel components.

2005 expedition 5.4 bank 1 too rich, cylinder 1 misfire, o2 sensor 1 error, I changed o2 sensor,spark plug & coil but engine is still smoking,raw fuel, doesn't seem to be firing on bank 1


un plug the fuel injector and see if the raw fuel smell, goes way, if it does the injector could be stuck open. if this is the case the more you run it the more fuel is getting into the crank case, this can wash the bearings and ruin the engine, check the oil see if you smell fuel if you do, you will have to pull up the injector rail with all the injectors and cycle the key one time, watch that injector to see if it drips fuel after the rest have stopped . if it leaks replace the injector all the injector o rings and change the oil.

Replaced motor on 2004 suburban and roll over except not starting


If one of the coils are bad the computer will send a code that can be read with a scan tool. Check this and also check your fuel pressure reading with a pressure gauge hooked up to make sure you have pressure from the fuel pump. Even if you hear it, it may not be putting out the correct pressure or fuel filter could be clogged, the sock on the fuel pump could be collapsed, or could just have an air lock in the fuel system. Maybe try pulling the air horn on your throttle body and pouring a VERY small amount of gas into it to force fire while you are cranking. Good luck and hope this helps.

Engine will turn over but not start i have checked crank and cam sensors replaced the fuel rail and crank sensor, has plenty of fuel to injectors checked the fuses in the fuse panel. what else could it be?


Well at its most basic level, any internal combustion engine needs 3 things to run, air, fuel and ignition. You know you have fuel, so that leaves air and ignition. Check for spark first, then check your mass airflow sensor, if thats bad, that could be your problem.

you might want to check your throttle position sensor or or it could be a a fuel pressure sensor on the injector rail. however if your check engine light is on...your O2 sensor might be bad. this is just a first step. chances are you will find that most fuel related problems are due to a clogged fuel filter or a weak fuel pump,but i would start with a sensor diagnostic first since the engine seems to have no problems starting.
