Question about 1993 GMC Sierra

My fuel gauge on my 1993 GMC Sierra just went bonkers (way past full) and I am getting no fuel to the throttle body. Is my fuel pump bad?

I appreciate both of your responses. I need to back up a step. I have just completed an engine swap in this vehicle. I had it all finished the other day and it fired right up and sounded good. It ran for about 15 minutes with no problems. I shut it off to hook up the trans shifter linkage and it started fine. As soon as I put it in gear (reverse) it moved about 10 inches and stalled. I havn't been able to get it started since. I have inspected all the wiring around the linkage thinking I may have jarred something there but can't see anything. My only other thought is that when it moved those few inches it jarred a ground wire that is related to the fuel delivery circuit. I am thinking I should do a 12 volt test on the wiring leading back to the fuel pump to see if I am even getting power to the pump.

There is a connection not connected ,or the fuel pump assembley is bad, either way the tank has to come off,or the bed has to be removed to access the problem,if this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

Yes, the fuel pump could be bad, but the sending unit and gauge should be replaced at the same time necessitating taking the gas tank down.

My 1993 gmc truck wont start it cranks over but doesnt start

Are you getting fuel? if the pump is out then you won't get fuel and it won't start. Check for fuel at the throttle body under the air cleaner also pull a plug and connect it to the wire and ground it to the engine block to see if your getting spark. try this and let me know. I suspect the fuel pump since these last around 8-10 years before they just quit.

I need help resetting my 94 GMC seirra's gas gage

the gas gauge is on the fuel pump assembly with in the fuel tank, you must have bumped it during reassembly. the only solution is removal. pull it out check for alignment and binding, reassemble being very careful. hope this helps.
