We changed the spark plugs now it won't crank up. Can you tell us what the problem is now?

check all fuses first, every time, something fails EFI.
the scan tool will tell you why 90 % of time.
connect scan tool
key on
crank for 5 seconds, see scan tool show 300 RPM? about.
good, no RPM is bad sensor (Cmp or ckp)
release key , do not turn off yet
see DTCs stored, now, bingo, its telling you what is bad. OMG.
p0340/ 355? and the like? are bad CMP, bad CKP, or others get em
post em or look them up in the FSM. or at alldata.com
Theory:
the ECU creates spark
there are the 2 sensors that tell the ECU when to spark (inputs)
and the ECU DRIVER the ignition IGNOTOR, that runs the ignition coil.
1 coil or 6 coils. depends on year.
4.0L I6 Jeep engines.


did you check for spark directly at the 1 coil car or at all 6 coils for 6 cop coil cars?

cops are coil over park plug, i think your car is 1 coil, had a 99 jeep.
and this old six still had one, coil, so does this one coil make spark
to a test spark plug, Y/N
if yes, the dizzy cap is bad or wired wrong. to plugs.
I no spark here, do the DTC scans above.!!!!!

well if ur not getting spark and u changed all of the ignition components lets think about the computer in order for the ignition to work you have crankshaft position sensor that fires the fuel injectors and the spark change that and if still nothing then change the camshaft postion sensor that sensor tells the computer that the 1 piston has came all the way up and it tells the crankshaft sensor to do its thing

What about the magnetic pick up. This is the crank angle sensor reporting to the ECM and creating spark. This is known as the G and NE sensor. Just for giggles with the distbutor on cap off crank the engine and see if the rotor change postion with the engine crank. if it does the timing belt is good if it doesnt you will need a timing belt.

If you have spark to a spark plug wire, you have ignition. So, is there fuel? If so, then it is TIMING, Crank Sensor or Coil. On the Sebring 2.5 there is a crank sensor. It tells the computer where the engine is (timing) and will keep the engine from running or running right. Remember that coil inside the distributor. It has two sides, the ignition side and the coil side. if that ignition side is failing, and even though you have a spark at the plug, the ignition will not happen (won't "catch") So, COIL? Crank Sensor? Still in all, Computer Codes really help. You're getting down there. Good luck then!

1995 Buick Lasbre 3.8L. Cranks over and wont start. Sometimes will start. Very random. Can drive 1 mile, shop, come out, car won't start just cranks over. Had replaced plugs, wires. Dealership...


If you have not changed the crank sensor,CHANGE IT NOW..Also in warm climates NEVER use fuel with ethanol in it.If it was a anti theft alarm problem,you usually get a light on the dash.

I had my spark plugs changed today and now my car won't start it will turn over but won't start


fuel problem or spark problem neither is associated with a change in sparkplug unless you had a sever misfire that you let go for a long time to cause thhe igition module to fail.and this include the crank sensor that is underneath the ignition module. cycle the key you should hear a humm at the fuel tank and that is the fuel pump working if you hear the fuel pump then more than likely you will need to correct for spark ignition module and crank sensor

Galant won't turn over when trying to start. No spark from plugs. Changed crank sensor and timing belt and still won't start. Any suggestions


you now need to check for 12 volt power, and signal to the coil, also be sure all you timing marks are correct, if you have no spark, unplug one of the injectors and using an led test light check for injector pulse power across the two terninals while cranking, if you have no injector pulse then you could have a problem with the ignition passlock system, or key decoder

What is wrong with my explorer if it cranks but won't go? I can crank it and when going down the highway it won't accel I can push the accelerator all the way down and it won't accelerate....


check plug wires and coil all spark in all plugs should be blue spark no orange spark if any orange replace coil i have a 2003 explorer so i know if that dont sove anything try a crankshaft postion sensor and or cam postion sensor as they tell cars ecu when to fire spark and what cylider to fire it to lmk what happens we can go from there

who do i contact to sue gm? after the n.h.t,s.a told gm on 5-23-73 to recall all 1993 saturns gm refused 29 days later i was in a accident that the n.h.t.s.a wanted recalled for a serious saftey problem i suffered a permanent tramatic brain injury and i wrote a letter to mary barra gmsc-e-o.she handed my letter to a jeffery koppy gms lead counsel who replied by a letter to me that was the old gm and because we filled bankruptcy in 2009 the new gmis not taking any futher action in regards to your letter.it took the feds to get gm to finally get the car recalled on 8-10 93 while i was still in the hospital.it gets worst i was a employee for gm at the time.because of my head injury i can't ever work again. i still had 17 years to work for gm and to get my 30 years to retire which was to be may of 2010.instead i had to retire a little after the accident.the day after accident iwas supposed to sign my transfer papers to another gm plant in michigan i was employed at their wentzville mo. plant because i was in a coma for 3 weeks and in the hospital 3 months that transfer never happened and the house we had at the time of accident was all ready sold. we had to get a lawyer so we could remain there. because my one car accident happened so close to where we lived.it happened on the i-70 expressway in warren county in the city of warrenton mo. all our neighbors knew about it. i was told by my doctors to try and do phyical therapy as much as possible.so my wife took me for a walk almost every day.but all our neighbors knew of what happened to me they just staired at me every day.it made me feel like a freak.so we sold the house and moved to the country.and if all that wasn't bad enough when my youngest daughter finished nursing school she asked me if i would co sign a loan for her in 2002 for a new car i still got my gm discount and because my brain wasn't right i told her to go to the gm dealer in the city i lived in because the sales-man was a very good man. and over the years we bought new cars from him i felt we were good friends.the car my daughter bought was a lemon from the time she bought it.it had nothing to do with the salesman or dealer. it was a 2002 chevy malibu.well one day she gave a friend a ride home and as she pulled into friends driveway the ignition just turned off.like it did to those 124 people who died because of a problem gm knew about for a long time. my daughters ignition failed in 2004 so she had the car towed to the closest dealer .they said the ignition was bad and said she needed a new one so she told them to go go ahead a replace it even gm had long knew of the problem she had to pay to get it replaced.then if you's can believe this about 10 years later i think it was 2013 or 2014 she got a recall letter telling her that the gm dealer put in another bad ignition.try keep sending her recall letters.but with gm almost killing her dad plus alot of other people wih cars with bad ignitions. she said theres no way gm will tought her car as usual it wasn't running any ways.so it just sat there and she got tired of looking at it and she just called the junk yard i forget how much she got but said she was just glad it was gone and could never hurt anybody ever again.but i'm not dead yet and i still want gm to pay me for what they did to me.as far as i'm concerned gm should be forced to stop making cars.think of all those children who lost their mother or another family member because of gm.i guess so many companys are out for the most money than can make their using defective parts. before i sign off i would like to say the plant i worked at in wentzville mo.had the most inspectors and process assurance inspectors that it almost impossible for something to slip by.i can see if a car rolls out missing a nut or bolt from time to time but there is no reason anything saftey related to ever be missed,from what i found out about the saturn car that almost killed me the bad positive battery cable that shorted out every thing in the car like air bags and abs brakes with no air bags to deploy thats why i was ejected head first out thru the front windshield.i'll bet it hurt alot but doctors said i was knocked out instantly.BUT just because i was in a coma my wife who is a nurse said i was thrashing around moaning that they kept giving me alot of morphine shots.so i'm very tired now using one finger to type on computer.so before yous buy a new car make damn sure there aren't any recalls on it jay teffer signing off.watch what car you decide to buy!!!!!!!!!
