Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

I have a 1999 volkswagen jetta just recently my passengers side headlight went out then both went out. Even if i turn on my headlights in the car and flick on my high beams there is no light at all. On occassion my high beam indicator will flicker on and off or just stay on inside my car even when my lights are not turned on.

Flickering headlights

This can be caused by a bad fuse, or a fuse with corroded or poor contacts, or a faulty headlight switch, or a problem with your wiring. Start with the fuse, then try turning the headlights on and off a few times to see if that helps. Otherwise, into the shop ...

for the most part you open the hood and get your hands behind the headlight assembly and turn the socket and pull the headlight bulb out if you have a autozone near you and you get the blub from them they will help you with installing it try this website www.autozone.com

No, you just might have to take out the battery. I was able to do it without taking the battery out, but only because I was being stubborn. There is one thing I definitely have to say is that you should change both headlights at the same time. My driver side headlight was the first one to go and I didn't listen and just changed that one, days later my passenger side one went out!

have you tried the do it yourself fix? It's a kit you can buy from almost any parts store or even some Walmarts. Almost like sanding it down and then a liquid polish goes on. . . .worked great for me. Cheaper too!
