2000 Honda civic... The automatic shifter was stuck... Changed the shifter cable...I put the keys in and it gets power, it doesn't turn the engine... Doesn't mark the gears on the cluster... Any solutions?

Shift cable not installed properly. There is a safety which keeps the car from being started unless its in park. There should be a xable going from the shifter to the instrument cluster. Did you connect this?

My honda civic model 2007 1.8 exi automatic key is not switching on

Most likely the gear stick is not detecting the Park position. Try to shift the gear stick back and forth in the track and put it back in Park position. If this does not work then check if the steering lock is not stuck. Move the steering wheel left and right a few times and see if the ignition key moves. Otherwise a trip to the mechanic.

HONDA CIVIC 99' WHEN I START THE CAR THE SHIFT DON'T MOVE FROM PARKING IS LOCKED UP.I CAN NOT CHANGE FROM PARKING THE RELEASE SWITCH DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO SWITCH FROM PARK TO ANY OTHER POSITION.

Hi, you can pull up cover around shifter with a small screw diver and look beside shifter were your release switch and take the screw driver or hand push down on it will holding brake pedal down and see if you can move shifter out of park . The release part my be broken, you should be able to see if broken. If i can help you any more please feel free to re post.

I have a quick question if someone can help I have a 98 honda civic es manual stick shift. Was bought about 3 weeks ago and ran great. last 3 days gears been having problems going in. it keeps bouncing...

You are not alone with this problem. I believe it may have something to do with the shift linkage, or even inside trany with synchros.
Is the shifter shifting ok in other gears, do you feel like you are pulling through mud to shift ?
Please let me know.

How do I check automatic trans fluid in a 1997 Honda Civic? In the past I've always check fluid with the car idleing in park at normal operating temperature. But the Honda dealer is telling me to check it...

That's because you don't understand how a Honda trans works. Think of it as an automatic manual trans, that is Honda's trans are the only one's where all the gears are constantly meshed. When a Honda trans shifts, it engages that specific gear. All the gears are meshed, a Honda trans engages a clutch pack which gives power through that specific meshed gear, just as you would if you were shifting a manual trans. Now since all the gears are constanly meshed, they are inmersed in trans fluid, If you check it while it is running, It will show less, plus the fact on some Honda models the gears are right next to the dip stick and if your not careful, the dip stick can get pulled into the gears and destroy the trans.

2003 Accord LX Not Shifting Out of Park on Random Occurances

Can you hear or feel a "click" in your gear selector when you hit the brakes? If you don't, the solenoid that disengages the lock could be sticking.
