The gauge connections must be loose or adrift

Everything went haywire I mine once: fuel gauge, speedometer, odometer. A dime had fallen in through display fitting and landed perfectly on the control box, short-circuiting it. >$500 for a dumb design flaw.

The Gas Gauge needle in my 2004 Nissan Maxima has fallen below the empty pin that it sits on when the tank is empty. Any suggestions as to how i could correct it?

there are 2 cures,
1: buy a new cluster or used and pray.
2: a wise old tech dismantles it and pulls the meter and resets the needle proper unless said meter parts not broken.

tell; Clyde your pet Orangutan to not slug the cluster.
seems to me collision damage?
or evil knievel jumping buses again. or son.?

Why did my 2005 nissan altima car did not start until I put about 9 gallons of gas in it, the gauge was already showing a half of tank, what was wrong?

Nissan has a problemwith the fuel sender in the tank. You should have a service engine light on and there will be a code telling you the fuel tank has more fuel in it then it can hold.

Fuel gauge doesn't work. went on vacation and left nissan parked with all but empty fuel tank. When I returned and filled up, the gauge wouldn't register. Stuck???

Hit the top of the dash with your hand. if not you will have to check the wiring before you can tell if it is the fuel gauge or sender in the tank. This is not a commen problem.

Fuel gauge on my 2006 Nissan Frontier

You're in luck
There is a possible recall on 2005-2008 nissan frontier/pathfinder and xterra, for erratic/inaccurate or
inoperative fuel gauge. This is the part# for the fuel gauge sending unit in question is #25060-ZS00A
Give your local nissan dealer and they should be able
to help you out. The reference number should be
#NTB07-069 AND 069A Hope this helps.

03 maxima fuel guage problem, gauge doesn't show the accurate fuel in the tank, it read full and it doesn't come down the 1/4 mark if the car is running, if you turn the car off it comes down to the rest...

I have an 03 Maxima doing the same exact thing. I changed the fuel pump, with has the filter built in. It's located under the back seat. You don't need to remove the tank from this car, thankfully...It was easy. 4 bolts, basically..

As far as the gas needle, it's still floating.. My last car always had a check engine light that drove me nuts. I'd rather deal with that, than a floating needle....

I do have problems with my wiring, I can tell. Where do I begin on replacing this?? Under the dash?? Any safety measures? Lol. Thanks. :)

My 2006 nissan maxim fuel gauge needle spun all the way around to the stop and will not return, Could you tell me what might be the problem

Disconnect the wiring at the tank sender and see if it drops. If so replace tank sender.
If not there is a short in the wiring loom

Car: Nissan Maxima SE 1997 tachometer broken

the dash voltage egulator probably went bad. First, check the battery & make sure you have 12 volts, not running. Check it again running & you should see about 14.5 volts. If that's good,I'd replace the guage assembly.
