Turn my key to start car, 05 impala, and let go but sometimes sounds and acts like im still tryin to turn car over... What is this?

This is perfectly normal on 02 and up GM cars The starter will engage and release when the car's engine runs. If you let go of the switch before the engine runs, the vehicle will continue to start until the engine starts. Once the vehicle starts, even if you crank it again, it will not grind your starter because of the anti-grind feature built with that model. Do not worry my friend, your car is fine!

1999 Toyota 4-Runner sometimes won't start

Sounds like the starter is getting ready to go out. I'd look at being ready to replace it soon. If it is a stick shift transmission car, you can PUSH start the car, but you probably want to get it done before this happens. This is what mine did, click, click, start, over a period of about 2 weeks before it finally went out. Replaced it, starts first time every time now.

Hope this helps.

Running rough

Sounds like it may be a fuel problem. Have you changed the fuel filter recently ?

this may sound funny but i had an old dodge car that did that exact thing....turns out that i had to replace or repair the ground straps and also the cables to the battery and starter....it was fine after that.

Hi my xjr6 dosent start and when it dose it dont run right i would like to find out what protocol it is as i have need to get the software for it?

If it runs rough when started it could be the distributor cap and rotor. it could also be water in the gas but that would usually mean once started it dies again. Finally, when you start is upon cranking if it doesn't sound normal you could have a burnt valve. I would first do a compression test just to rule out something major, if compression is ok then start with the cap and rotor, perhaps wires also.
It would not be the crank sensor or fuel pump as when they fail they fail and if the car starts sometimes then it would run normally

Engine starts rough intermittently

First thing that I would do is Replace the Fuel Filter and get the Fuel Pump Checked out. It sounds like it is one or Both of these.
