To reset "CHANGE OIL" light, turn the ignition switch to the run position without starting the engine. Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. and wait for the light to flash. Check your manual it maybe slightly different. Real easy fix.

I have a 2005 pontiac grand am and had my oil changed 1000 miles ago and my "CHANGE OIL" light came on. what could be the problem?

Hello: Whoever changed the oil may not have reset the oil life indicator. Turn key on (engine off) push the accelerator all the way to the floor three times within 5 seconds. That should reset the oil life.

Trying to get the oil filter cap off of a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am. Am wondering if it is clockwise or counter-clockwise?

It is a right handed thread, meaning lefty-loosey, turn it to the left. Some of them do get hard to turn. Hope this helps.
