Question about Chevrolet 1500
The pressure switch is to refill the r-12 freon gas in ac.Its refilled from low side port of ac.But in your case if the ac is coming on and going off after 20 minutes. This is not related to pressure switch port. Its the case of overheating.
The thermostat for the ac is getting over heated and the ac is stopping after few seconds. If thermostat is checked ok.Then there is a fan exactly above the thermostat to cool the hot thermostat. That fan is faulty. That fan starts moving after the thermostat temperature rises to the heat.So this fan has to be checked. The other cause of problem is radiator and its cap.If the radiator cap is loose or radiator is dirty then radiator needs to be re-flushed and cap needs to be checked. And the other cause is r-12 leaking from the ac.To check this there is a ac pressure test done. This test can be done at any local car garage.Get this test done and confirm that there is no r-12 freon gas leak from the ac unit.
