Bad motor mounts? 1999 toyota sienna

I can's get a consistent answer on how many motor mounts are on this vehicle, where they are and how to determine which one is bad. Again, heavy vibration in drive and virtually none in park or neutral. Toyota Ed, are you out there?

The vibration may not be the mounts but the motor missing. What the motor with the hood open. Have your driver put the unit in gear and see how much things move touch the engine and feel the unit does the engine run smothly or does it need a tune up or vacume leak fixed. The exhaust system may be touching the car somewhere and it's transferring noise and vibration. Air conditioning lines and fuel lines can do it too. Is the check engine light on? Mixture problems can make the engine chuggle and vibrate more than normal. oxagen sensers can cause mixture ans can temperture senser lies. Even an opened too much therostate can make the system think that its cold and turn up the fuel till the motor shakes. fouling plugs and causing fuel ecomony problems and low performance problems.

When the brake is applied the engine quits on a 1999 toyota sienna

Does this vehicle have power brakes? If so, then check the vacuum booster for the brakes.

It sounds like when you hit the brakes, the vacuum booster is leaking, causing the engine to stall.

Do this by unhooking it, and plugging it off where it goes to the motor, so the motor port is sealed. Don't worry about where the line plugs into the booster for now. Then, try hitting the brakes with the motor running. The brakes will be much harder to push now, as you have disconnected its booster. If it no longer stalls, then you will know that your brake booster is bad, and needs replacing.

Unless you are machanically inlined, have a good garage replace the booster. Midas will do, since they are a brake place. Used to be they tested, or checked, your car for free. Maybe they still do, but don't let them sell you anything you really don't need.

How do you check an 02 sensor for a 2005 toyota sienna?

Very common for the 3 L motor to have a problem with an oxygen sensor. The best way is to read the OBDII code from the computer and determine which of the Three sensors is bad. Usually it is either Bank one, sensor one or Bank two, sensor one. The hard one is B2 S1 down & behind the engine & firewall. Great patience and determination will get you through.

When should you replace timing belt on Toyota Sienna van? It's a 1999 model with 210,000 kms on it and I need a new water pump. Should I replace the timing belt at the same time?

Somewhere between 90,000 mil;es and 120,000 miles you should do your timing belt. But first make sure you do not have a timg chain. If you have a timing chain, you never have to change it at all.
