Question about 2000 Ford Focus

1 Answer

Last weekend while driving down the road the battery light came on. Then all gauges on the dash spun clockwise then counter-clockwise back to zero and then back to where they should be (when the car is on). This happened about 6 times. This is a 2000 focus. Is this just a battery issue or something deeper?

My1986 nissan 300zx turbo digital dash does not work. The RPM gage works and the battery charge indicator work. Everything thing else is lit with zero's and gas gauge blinks E. If I recall this ca

my guess is that since you hit a bump in the road that its possible that a plug has come loose from the back of the dash.. remove instrument cluster and inspect for loose or broken wiring and connectors..

Intermittent Gauge Failure

I doubt it, but anything's possible.
The only thing connecting the two things would be the parking lights and dash lights, not the gauges.
Sounds like a problem with the body controller, or the wiring harness behind the dash. Advance warning - there are miles of wiring in a Jaguar. And the problem will have to be occuring for the garage to find it.
Do you think it only happens on trips, and not just local driving ?
Could be something heating up if you need 50+ miles to make it happen.

My dashboard and gauges keep flickering on and off

sound like you have a lose connection it could be the cables on to the dash or the socket it fits to. you would need to remove the dash and clean the connection and re fit it. if you push on the dash does it stop. ? just check this first as some times its just a tiny amount of play in the connections that's the problem .

I was driving and all the dash lights went off and the gauges all dropped down to zero, also at this time the window would not work. Then after turning the car off and restarting the lights and gauges all...

Check ALL your ground wires, neg. battery cable, frame ground ect.
If this does not help, go directly to your VOLVO dealer, you do not want the air bags to deploy when you are driving down the highway !

Instruments lamps don't turn on in Mercedes 300E 1992

First
Make sure your dash "dimmer" is not turned all the way done, its a small rod thats twists clockwise to increase dash illumination, counter clockwise to decrease...
Next..the bulbs in the back of the gauge cluster might be burned out , if they are the original bulbs, thats probably the case...
