Could be a bad solenoid or relay.

If the plunger is bad in the solenoid, it get stuck in the on mode and won't retract.

Good luck on this one.

Car has power but won't start.

If it won't crank in neutral, you'll have to get someone to scan the computer for trouble codes, and check the starter cable for power.

Doesn't start, not even a cranking noise

If it does not crank, it could be the key switch, the neutral safety switch, or the starter.
While you are under the car you need to check to see if you have power on the purple wire at the starter solenoid when the key switch is in the start position. That is power coming from the key switch thru the neutral safety switch that energizes the starter solenoid.

Maybe the ignition is bad- or your starter solenoid stuck in engaged position?

Drove car to work last night car was ok. Tried to start car this morning and it didn't start

You need to provide more info. \
When you tried starting the car did the starter motor turn over as normal
OR
when you turned the key to start the engine did the starter motor not turn over at all or only very slowly?

1995 Taurus. Starter will not disengage. Engine cranks, but will not turn over.

Find the starter relay under the hood. It may be bad and stuck so power continues going to the starter. Try a new relay Or try pulling off the small signal wire on the relay (it is from the switch), and hook battery up. If starter continues to run, the relay is bad. If starter is stopped, put the signal wire back on relay. If starter now starts operating, and key is still off, then switch may be bad .Location of relay may be at left front fender apron, in front of shock tower (like on earlier taurus models).
