It sounds as if you ave done alot; aswell spent quite some time!! Not to sugest you you have not done but. check the distributor to spark plug connections. If you are not sure as to wha it should be, find the same vehicle that does run and write the dist. to plug connections down and plug your's back to that. It should work. Failing that call me I will help! 905-456-0730. Ash.

2007 chevy 6.0 engine. I rebuilt the engine, everything great, got new crankshaft, now having a problem with the engine locking up

Did you maintain the clearance between the crank bearings and the crankshaft? Same goes for the rod bearings. Is the oil pressure too high? Sounds like there are tight bearings.

It ran out of oil and now it makes loud noises and only runs for 2 minutes. What engine parts might be damaged?

Any moving part relying on lubrication can be affected by lack of oil.

Sounds like the engine is FUBAR!

If the seals have gone will the car make a noise

You don't say which seals or which pump however via elimination if the oil seals have gone well yes you could have noise from damaged bearings ( most likely a whine or a grating sound). Water pump gone well sounds could start because of overheating, if bearing in water pump gone sometimes sounds like a rattle as impeller blades rub, Oil pump failure then yes as the engine struggles for lubrication you will hear plenty of noises ( Costly ones ) .If fuel pump fails they can make noise as they struggle to reach pressure but eventually will give out and your car will stop from fuel exhaustion. Whatever the reasons for this noise ( and you didn't make it clear where it's coming from or what type of noise ) you may want to get your car serviced, this may save you a whole lot of cash and maybe even your life, a car seizing up can cause a serious accident as everything locks up and you lose control if you can't check it out yourself seek a mechanic soon.

Ive rebuilt the oil pump on my 98 bonneville and the oil pressure is still low and causes my motor to knock

The problem isn't with the oil pump. The oil pumps job is to move oil around the engine. What the problem is, the main and rod bearings are so worn out that it can't create oil pressure anymore. That's why you have a knock in the bottom end of the engine. The tighter the clearances are at the main/rod bearings, the better the oil pressure you'll have. The cam bearings also play a roll in producing oil pressure.

Tapping sound when starting or shutting off the engine

Sounds of low oil pressure or oil need changed to thin. Either you need an oil pump or your engine is old and you need to rebuilt it. See the crank and rod bearings create pressure the pump pumps it up. Even if you install a new pump and crank bearing are low. Pressure will be low.

Bearings on crank shaft have to do with oil pressure

No that is not exactly true, worn main engine crank bearings will drop the oil pressure as it leaks out the gap, but worn oil pumps will also cause the bearings to wear and then that makes the oil press drop problem worse. The bottom line here is that if you have an engine knock it is to late, the engine must be rebuilt and the oil pump is always replaced at that time.

Blown oil pump 3 cyclinders not firing what else can i I expect in repairing engine

If the oil pump does not work, the entire engine will lock up and be totally useless. You will need to do a complete rebuild of the engine, including main bearings and rod bearings. Sometimes it is easier to buy a rebuilt engine, in the area of $1800.00. Rebuilding will cost 800.00 plus 15 hours lablr.

I have a 93 vw cabriolet, the oil light comes on only during idle after car has been running for 20 mins, i changed the oil and oil filter and the oil pump, the car isnt burning much oil at all, what can...

Switch to a different grade oil. (20W50 if you're not on it already). If this does not change the symptoms(and I doubt it would) the main bearings are worn. (Despite what you read about testing the pressure switch, they rarely fail)
With bearing failure, depending on your budget, you can :
  • Change main and big-end bearings
  • Rebuild the complete engine
  • Replace the engine with a factory rebuilt unit
Replacing with something from a breakers yard is gambling as you never really know what you get. If you're under 150000 miles (erm... the car I mean) I'd recommend having the crank resized and fitting oversize bearings which is the most cost effective DIY option. You'll need to remove the engine. Remove the sump, damper pulley, clutch/flex plate and finally the crankshaft. Everything else on the engine can remain intact. You'l need to take the crank to an engineering shop to have it resized. Once done they will give you the new sizes or perhaps they can supply you with the new bearings. In order to do this get a good quality repair manual (Haynes or Bentley- avoid Chiltons) or you can post here again.

Where is the oil pump located on jeep liberty 2002

oil pump is in the oil pan, sounds like your problem is in the crank bearings if one crank bearing goes you will loose oil pressure causing oil light to come on.
