I have the same problem, but I also have a lot of other problems with my car. We ended up changing all of the heads in the motor and it still sounds like a diseal truck for some reason. Now I went to Autozone before to see if they would hook it up to a computer and all it said was a random missfire, so I never found anything out. I also know that the engine has problems. I have gotten countless notices telling me I need to take it to GMC and have them check the engine. You may want to do this if you haven't with that many miles.

Try changing your coil packs and wires also. WIth that many miles on the car i dont see why they would not need to be changed a long time ago. Also if there is an engine code (check engine light) on get that checked autozone will do it free of charge. It may even be a bad fuel injector.

How often do you change spark plugs in 2002 olds intrigue

I believe the recommended is at 100K miles. I just changed mine on the Aurora at 216K miles and they were still working - so they last pretty long.

Car shuts off while driving, i can start the car almost immediately after it shuts down. i do not have to hit anything. it also has a slight miss. i changed the spark plugs, wires, and the coil packs...

Hi!!

I got a 99 Intrigue, I had a similar problem with mine, it had to do with the alternator plug and the red thick wire that was loose.

Check the positive wire coming from the battery to the alternator and from the battery to the fuse box for tight contact and corrosion. If all connections seem fine, take vehicle to AutoZone or similar autoparts and have charging system tested. They will do it for free.

Keep me posted!!

How do I change the rear spark plugs on a 1998 Olds Intrigue?

if they unscrew easy then your good to go. have you ever changed plugs before? sometimes if they are hard to get to you need the right socket extension, swivels. probably the best tip i can give you is that if a plug doesnt come out leave it in, it costs lots of money to get a stuck plug out of engine. let me know if you need help

Dumps raw gas into engine

Just a few things to check. Take off the fuel filter and make sure there is no water in it. If you have put in different spark plugs than AC Delco, then change them to AC Delco. If you haven't looked at the plugs or the fuel filter, then it is way past time to replace the filter and new AC Delco spark plugs only. These places that insist that you use Bosch plugs or split fire plugs don't know ****. The Delco plugs are made especially for your engine and will out last those cheap non-working Bosch plugs.
If the fuel filter and plugs don't fix it, make sure your air filter intake isn't stopped up with a bird's nest. Happens a lot. If it still misses after new plugs, you may have a fuel injector sticking.
The bad smoke is the gas-thinned oil passing the rings and unburnt fuel smoke. The missing really bad is most likely fuel soaked spark plugs. Make sure you change the oil while changing the plugs or you will have a redo. Let us know if any of this helps. Dale
