Just bought one with the same problem,, linkage was seized on the drivers side, remove wiper arms remove trim rubber, the plastic snaps pop out easily, remove plastic cover, linkage will be fully exposed and easily removed, two 10mm bolts, one nut releases the linkage from the motor simple oiling may help,, mine was barely movable so i put a torch to it several times and oiled it as it cooled slowly working it until it moved freely.. good luck

Have you replaced the wiper motor itself? Seems to me the wiper motor is your area of concern.

Hi i have a nissan serena frnt wipers were slow then they just stopped is thiis a wiper motor problem

wipers are basically electromechanical, the motor electrical/mechanical & the wipers mechanical. before replacing the motor, lubricate the moving parts first using standard oil or WD40,
check also the wiper fuse in the fuse panel, chances are they are blown due to a heavy load to the wiper motor brought about by friction because of absence of lubricant in the mechanism. check for broken wirings leading to the wiper motor
wiper motor replacement necessary if the above solution don't work.

Is there a procedure to check the wiper motor on 1991 S10 pickup (only 42000 miles), to be sure it is defective and not a wiring problem?

ONLY PROCEDURE FOR WIPER MOTOR IS YOU HAVE 2 SPEEDS THAT WORK SLOW AND FAST SPEED.WIPERS WILL RETRACT TO THE BOTTOM OF HOOD LINE WHEN YOU TURN OFF. WIPERS SHOULD TURN OFF. CHECK WIPER RESERVOIR MAKE SURE ITS FULL AND WIPER WASHER SPRAY FLUID CLEAN WINDSHIELD. IF WIPER MOTOR DO ALL THE ABOVE THEN ITS OKAY.IF WIPER MOTOR WORKS SLOW LOOK FOR BINDING AT WIPER ARM LINKAGE AND PIVOT LUBRICATE LINKAGE AND PIVOT COULD HELP.IF WIPER MOTOR DONT WORK CHECK FOR POOR GROUND OR BLOWED FUSE.WIPER WORK AT ONE SPEED CONTROL SWITCH IS BAD.IF WIPER BLADES STOP WHERE EVER THEY ARE OR FAIL TO TURN OFF UNLESS YOU TURN OFF IGNITION SWITCH WIPER MOTOR LIMIT SWITCH BROKEN.IF WIPERS DONT RETRACT BELOW BOTTOM HOOD LINE LOOK FOR MECHANICAL OBSTRUCTION OR WIPER MOTOR FAULTY.

Wiper problems

It was the wiper motor that chewed your battery because this motor only stops when the wipers are at their normal resting position. Have the car checked on why the wipers jammed..check under bonnet wiper arms.

Wipers not workin or slow wipe to death

Check out the wiper motor and associated assembly is not dry. If so oil it and the bearings of the motor too. If any plastic gear or part is being used then check if its OK & not wornout. These are the basic things you can try before getting any part replaced.........sodeep

Windshield wipers slow, then stop working and then come on again

I have a 98 Montero Sport. My wipers paused and went then they stopped completly. Come to find out the grease inside the wiper motor had dried out so I put some grease in it and walla works like new. Better then spending 200 on a new wiper motor ^_^

Wipers stop after 5 minutes of slow or intermiant speed use.

Try replacing the Wiper Motor Pulse Board Module. It is available at aftermarket parts stores, it is easy to replace, and it is a high failure item. Eventually, the module will fail completely and leave you with no wipers.
