Mas aie flow sencer

Did you mean the mass air flow sensor ! hear are some problems that accure. So, MAF failure will create a wide variety of performance and power problems. These may include: hard to start vehicle; starts and immediately stalls; hesitation in engine; rough idle; running very rich or very lean fuel mixture; or "hiccup" when accelerating.
If you suspect MAF sensor failure and the check engine light is on, a auto parts store can read the computer code for free as long as light is on with a code scanner or even sell you a code scanner. An auto repair shop can also check the codes fairly easily. But if the check engine light is not on and you suspect MAF failure, try the cleaning the maf sensor first. good-day !.

Fuses, relays, Mass air flow sensor, crank sensor. Most likely your check engeine light is on, check for codes and descriptions, this will point you in the direction you need to go.

Ford windstar check engine light comes on after stopping when starting to get moving again shows p0171 & p0174 codes why??

P0171 indicates a lean condition. The most common cause of this is a defective mass air flow sensor. Also check if any vacuum leaks. P0174 OBD-II Trouble Code

Technical Description

System Too Lean (Bank 2)

What does that mean?

Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 2 detected a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust.

Note: This DTC is very similar to P0171, and in fact your vehicle may show both codes at the same time.

Thanks.

have your idle speed sensor cleaned, also checkd the air flow sensor located in the air cleaner housing, you best bet is to have it scanned for PCM soft codes(codes that wont turn on the check engine light on)
