Question about 1991 Ford Escort

The cam sensor,or the crankshaft sensor,one or the other,spray starting fluid in the intake,if it starts,and keeps running,then it is the cam sensor,or pick up coil in distributor types,if it starts,and then dies,then it is the crankshaft sensor.If this was helpful,please rate,thank you.
