2001 Deville: check engine coolant level display comes on, however coolant level seems fine. Today the engine hot ac off display came on and the temperature gage also was above normal Problem began to show up approx. 6 months ago. When I added coolant the check coolant light would go off for several months before returning, this is the first time since the problem began that the temperature gauge posted an above normal reading and the engine hot ac off display light came on. I have checked the oil and there does not seem to be a water-oil mixture.

On the water jug there is a sensor that detects the level of the coolant in the system. It is like a float and sometimes it will stick and show that the coolant level is low, You can tap on the jug by the sensor and see if the light goes out. Also you should make sure that your radiator cap is sealing the system. One way is to see if the top hose has pressure on it after the car runs for some time. Squeeze the top hose and see if it has pressure, if not you should make sure the radiator cap is tight or it might need to be replaced. The radiator cap can keep the cooling system from circulating properly. Also check the top hose when the car is running and see if the temperature is the same as the bottom hose. If not than you have a circulation problem But do not check for this problem umtil you replace the cap. If the two hoses do not feel like their temp is not the same than you have a ciculation problem which could be the thermostat, water pump, or clogged radiator.

Two cooling fans controlled by three relay's . If only one fan is working ,that could be a problem .
Coolant Level Sensor Description
The coolant level sensor monitors the coolant level in the cooling system and indicates if the coolant is low. This sensor is located at the base of the radiator surge tank and is not serviceable.
CHECK COOLANT LEVEL (2)
The IPC receives a discrete input from the engine coolant level switch. The engine coolant level switch is normally closed. When the engine coolant is low, the engine coolant level switch opens. When the IPC receives an open signal from the engine coolant level switch, the IPC displays the message on the DIC.

Late cooling nissan maxima 2001

check coolant level in radiator. also check the cooling fans and make sure they are coming on when the car is hot. the a/c will not come on if the car is running hot. the computer will not turn the a/c pump on to keep engine cooler and prevent a brake down. make sure all those things are in working order.

My 2001 cadillac deville has check coolant level

If you added the green anti freeze to you system it will make the check coolent level light come on. Drain the system and use the extended life anti freeze and that will fix the problem.

Keeps running hot replaced the water pump and the thermostat

The Northstar engine in this model is bad to blow head gaskets. Pressure from a cylinder will overpressure the coolant system and all the coolant will blow out. When that happens the engine will overheat. I fixed mine but it cost about $1500 in parts and tools and 5 weeks. If your coolant level is fine, check your fans and your radiator. One fan will come on when the AC is on or around 230 degrees F I think-They are designed to run hot.

AC and blower sometimes does not come on immediately, Info center reads check coolant but coolant level is fine. Any relationship between the 2 issues??? 2001 cadillac deville

No coolant has to do with heat. freon has to do with ac. Now when you said your ac AND blower doesnt come on right away are you saying it does this ONLY when its on ac or when its on heat too. I would first change out your coolant level sensor or add coolant (which you said was fine) and see what happens. but im sure they are not in relation as the blower motor is on its own circuit

Hi!
Looks like a classic air lock scenario! you need to perform a system bleed.
Park vehicle on level ground, when cold remove coolant filler cap. Start engine and leave to idle, turn heater to hot blower on full.
When at operating temp stand clear of coolant filler area, listen/watch hopefully gurgling and a boil over, top up when settled with very warm water/coolant, wait as it may do it a couple of times. Check for heat inside vehicle if hot and coolant settled replace cap but watch temp gauge for a while as another air lock may be in the system.
Please press the Blue button when sorted!
