Question about Chevrolet Impala

1 Answer

We own a 2005 chevy impala every once in a while there would be a big puddle of what looks like water on the front floor on the passenger side of the car. we brought the car to a glass repair shop and they said that it had something to do with the ac or heater or something like that.

Sounds like your "Heater Core" is leaking from inside your dash. Water on the floor is a classic symptom of it.

Cheap part to replace, but can be a pain with having to take apart your dash to get to it.

Why doi hear water in the dash on a 2004 chevy impala

That's the antifreeze entering and exiting the heater core, which is located behind the glove box of the dashboard. If there is sweet smell or antifreeze on the inside floor on the passenger side, you have a leak in the heater core.

Why does the floor stay wet on the passenger side in my 2005 chevy impala

Put a white cloth on it. If its green or orange (the same color as your antifreeze) its your heater core going out.

Water leak in floor

orIs the water coming from above the floor(front or side windows)(is the puddle big) or from underneath the floor(slowly spreads)? I think you have a lot of water coming in from a leaky window gasket, most probably in the front window.

In my 2000 chevy Impala has a water leaks under dashboard onto passenger floor, only when it rains?

I had the same problem with a 1994 Taurus. Within the front fender was 10 years of pine needles and leaves blocking the drain backing the water up in and over the fire wall and into the front passenger seat floor.
I took a LONG pair of needle nose pliers threw the passenger side door, and was able to remove enough debree. After pulling out out about 5 fist full's of yuck, 1 gallon a water that was stuck some where poured out flushing out the drain. I did the same on the drivers side. After that I had no problems with floods. I hope this helps. If not check your back door weather stripping if you have one. I have heard water leaking behind the passengers seatbelt and onto the floor from under the seat. Got to love Florida's rain season(s)

2005 IMPALA WON'T START UNLESS ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED AND SKIPS & SPUTTERS WHILE DRIVING.

Change the fuel filter! Make sure the air filter is clean also. The fuel filter is near the rear door on the inside of the frame rail. Good luck!
