Look under the car at the gear box for the gear leaver to see if its moving when you try to get another gear,,if it dont move there is a fault in the gear selector not the gear box,,,

Chrysler 300c '06 can't get it out of park

This is a very common problem on the Chrysler LX Platform vehicles from 2005 - 2007. It's a broken Park Lock-Out Mechanism made from cheap plastic. Chrysler will only replace the whole shifter because they don't make just the part you need and it will cost you some bucks if you are out of warranty.

There is a way to over-ride the Lockout and you can purchase just the replacement piece from the only company that makes them in 100% aluminum Go to or and search for "pink thingy" or park lock-out mechanism. Tons of information as well as DIY threads with pictures and even YouTube demos.

Try pushing on break pedal before putting it into gear...if this does not work the break saftey switch telling the transmission you have depressed the pedal is faulty or the fuse to it is blown. :)

Transmission wont move out of park

I do not know the mileage you have, but powertain parts usually carry a warranty of 3 years and 36K or 5 years and 50K. You really might want to call a dealer on this and just bolt the pan back up and refill the fluid. I was tempted to call; you live in my former hometown and relatives live around Ratama Park.
