Question about 2006 Cadillac SRX
I have a 2006 SRXCadillac. Just got an engine light warning and the cruise control disengaged and it appears to be driving in a lower gear. Since I can't check fluids in the transmission, what do I do? The car has 103,000 miles.
HI. Your vehicle has been, essentially, switched to "limp Mode". This will occur when there has been some sort of sensor malfunction. There are multiple monitoring sensors located on this particular engine. They monitor fuel distribution rates, ABS functions, timing, coolant temp, Transmission shift point, etc. Due to the numerous codes that may be present, you will need to have your engine cpu scanned for the Proper DTC codes. These codes are stored in the ECM. There is a special diagnostic tool used to extract these important codes. Once the codes are extracted, you will be able to isolate the problem area. You can have this scan administered at your local auto zone parts store for free, or you can take your vehicle to the nearest GM dealership for proper testing, as well.
Once you have extracted the DTC codes, you can post them here and I will assist with defining the codes and providing the necessary repair information.
