I need to know how to get the back doors to open on my 96 Geo Metro LSI.

I found this information online from someone with the same vehicle, seems to be a similar issue and I hope this helps. Additionally, there may have been a recall for a child lock issue on you vehicle. Anyhow, here is what I found:

I went ahead and looked at the door earlier to see if I could get into the door. I took two screws out, one from the door handle area which held in a little cover that was easily removed with the lock button and door lever pulled out. The second from the little handle/tray in the middle of the door.
Carefully pried off the small triangle panel by the rear of the window, then pulled the door panel out gently but firmly, then up and it came right off.
Once that was out of the way I could see inside the lever/lock area and the mechanism was cruddy with hard black dirt. There are two springs; one low, one high in the little hole. The higher one is connected to the lock and the crud was jamming up the action of the spring. Over time this dirt had built up so the lock button/switch would not free up the lock. I cleaned it off as best I could and lubed it with a few drops of oil. I did this with both springs as best I could without tearing down the entire door as I don't have the time to do right now. And now the doors work.

I just bought this vehicle from an auction, and when I went to fill up the gas I was l was looking for the gas latch release button which I thought was at the driver's door side like any other vehicle and...

There is no remote fuel door release or lock for the fuel door. I bought a locking gas cap for mine. It's all manual pull harder than retaining spring. Door has a spring that holds it open and will shut at about 45mph if you forget to close it after pumping gas.

I need a locking fuel cap for my 2000 xj8?

The door to access the fuel filler compartment locks as part of the central locking system. If it is working properly, the fuel door is locked whenever the car doors are locked. However, if it doesn't lock when you lock the car, and you don't want to repair the central locking system (or part thereof), you will have to buy an aftermarket locking gas cap, since Jaguar doesn't offer one. You can find aftermarket gas caps at many online stores and catalog stores such as J.C. Whitney. Good luck.

A light lite up on my dash board that looked like a car part. I got out and turned the gas cap back on and it went out. Before that when I started it was missing a little until it warmed up.

Sounds like the light on your dash was a Fuel/emmisions light. If your gas cap wasnt on properly you could have encountered a small case of vapor lock.

Vapor lock can cause your car to sputter at idle, have poor accelleration, be hard to start and at times when vapor lock is severe even cause your car to not start at all!

Subaru Impreza gas cap door won't open

If there is one - In trunk - directly behind the gas filler door - behind trunkliner (carpet)
The cable should not have any problems... use a partner to hold the door release and try and pry it open with your fingers.
The spring popper may be bad.
Try this if you dont have an assistant :D
I had this problem with my STI -- easy to fix by bending the little metal on the inside of the fuel door that provides the spring action to open the door. 5 second fix

Gas Cap

There is a lock inside there, but it should only be actuated when you've locked your doors. By pushing the lock button on your key fob it locks your doors, rear hatch and your gas cap cover. Once you push the unlock button the lock inside will retract back allowing you to push on the cover. If you do have your doors unlocked, then it could be either the lock is not retracting as it should or the metal clip that the lock contacts with when in the out position may be bent out of shape and still in contact with the lock when the lock is retracted.
