Pushing anti-freeze out the resevoir. Changed water pump, thermostat. Temp. gauge does not indicate overheating. Fans seem to be working OK.

Try replacing the radiator cap. A weak cap will allow coolant to leave the radiator and go thru the overflow tube to the reservoir.

Need a mechanical advise on how to replace a thermostat on a 2002 Hyundai Elantra

Thermostats is located in the upper radiator hose coming off the engine. This requires a radiator flush too.

What is the average cost to replace a radiator in a 1997 Hyundai lantra. Are these low maintainence second hand cars?

Depending on the mileage of the car! Lantra can be a 'high maitenence' car. has it overheated due to the radiator leaking? They blow the head gasket fairly easily! aslo front struts seize. If engine hasnt had regular servicing they sludge up and wear out engine components, engine becomes very tappety and may eventually fail. It all depends if it has been cared for. hopes this helps. Engine overheat, A/C shut off, fan hot

Chances are that your engine is ok. Bad engine overheating can seize the engine. Less extensive overheating can crack the engine especially the cylinder head and lead to power loss or mixing of water and engine oil. If water is mixing with oil, the oil looks milky. If your car is not losing power and the oil looks normal then chances are that there was no damage to your engine.

Just make sure that whatever caused the overheating in the first place is sorted out - perhaps the radiator flushing resolved the cause of the overheating.

Overheating

Should just be the two bolts holding the metal cover on. Follow the top radiator hose if you aren't sure where it is.

Before you do this, make sure you check your coolant level to make sure it isn't just low.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like the waters not flowing correctly could be thermostat or other blockage. Are radiator fans working when vehicle is at operating temperature?Generaly this is a thermostat fault or faulty temperature sensor.
