2000 Jaguar S-Type 3L V6 Service intervals

I recently purchased a 2000 model Jaguar S-Type 3.0 V6. According to the service history the car was last serviced by a Jaguar agent on 119044km in 2008. The vehicle currently has 128000km on. Can I at this point in time only replace the oil or do I need to take it for a full service. Thank you. Regards. Riaan Conradie

Yes, you can just replace the oil, but for the car's health you should do yourself a full service - it's easy and you will save a lot of money for an hour of labor.

You should at least take it in for the normal interval servicing to make sure that you have a good service reference point.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I purchased very similar here in the UK £4800 (trade) two years ago, only problem so far has been O2 sensor failure which I replaced myself but was still fairly expensive. Other than that car has been good. Check for Jag service history

What problems could i get with 79k jaguar s-type 4.0l im trying to buy this car but i doknow if this car is conplicated an any way.

if there is a full service history then you should get no real problems, no service history then walk away.
Plugs should have been changed, coils changed, oil etc, take for a test drive , accelerate hard then brake hard, engine should settle to a nice idle, any stuttering or stalling indicate problems, check the brakes don't pull to one side, check the disc's especially the rears, to thin or cracked means no good. basically check all the things as for any car. diy repairs are possible but sometimes easier to take to a garage. log onto a Jaguar forum such as JAGUAR FORUM .COM

1999 3L S Type Jaguar Rough Running

WITH MOTOR RUNNING REMOVE ONE PLUG LEAD AT A TIME (INSULATED PILERS) MOTOR SHOULD REACT IF GOOD , IF ENGINE SPEED DOES NOT DROP ITS A FAULT AT THAT CLY, TRY NEW SPARK PLUG 1ST THEN LEAD, ALSO CHECK FOR ANY FAULTS OR SHORTING OF THE PLUG LEADS, COIL PACKS. (MORE NOTACABLE IN DAMP CONDITIONS) THESE CARS NEED TOP QUALITY PLUGS, OR THEY WILL ALL FAIL UNDER LOAD,

Where is #2 cylinder on 2000 jaguar s type 4.0?And what is code p0302

I recently starting having this problem also (only code p0305/308). That code means "miss-fire" on #2 cylinder. The #2 cylinder is the nearest cylinder on the right (closest to front of car on drivers side) if you are standing in the front of the car.

Smoke after starting cold

According to Jaguar, the engine has a heater fitted inside the engine which automaticly switches on when you start the engine and switches of at a pre-determaned time, this expells steam from underneath the car, and considered as normal.
Therf are other answers in the Jaguar forum, take a look there. I have the same effect with my X-Type.
